The game has some solid mechanics and can be quite fun to play, but if I knew that the devs intended to spam DLCs and lock content behind a bunch of paywall, I never would've bought this game in the first place.

I'm 90ish hours in and I enjoy the game. I loved Battle Brothers and War Tales follows a similar theme but with more RPG elements. Player classes and skill customization is good and I like how each region has its own story or plot to work through. The Thaumaturge is wildly OP but fun and very useful for softening up large groups of enemies.

My one complaint is the complete absence of walrus mounts. Once again, game developers fail to recognize the majesty and ferocity of these savage creatures. Their uber psychic powers would be a welcome addition for better game balance in the tactical encounters of the game.
