In progress - Scheduled maintenance is currently in progress. We will provide updates as necessary.
Jan 26, 2026 - 10:30 UTC
Scheduled - We are making some improvements to the way that we take and manage backups of projects across the fleet. We introduced this new method some time ago, and it's already in use for larger projects, projects with PITR enabled, and projects with Read Replicas. We also made the new method the default for all new projects last week.

We are now pushing this change out to all remaining projects across the fleet in stages through the week of January 26, 2026. We will start with Free plan projects, and move through paid subscribers after.

What's not changing?

You'll still get daily backups as you do today — this is an infrastructure improvement on our end that benefits you automatically.

What this means for you:

Faster restores — If you ever need to restore your database, it'll be back online significantly faster, especially for larger databases.

Less impact on your database — Backups will run with lower overhead, so you won't notice any performance impact during the backup window.

Is there any downtime?

Transitioning to the new backup method does involve a Postgres restart. The downtime is extremely minimal, just a few seconds in most circumstances. Any direct or pooler connections will disconnect on restart. As a best practice for using any hosted database, we recommend including reconnect logic in our application to re-establish connections if they're severed for any reason.

You can read more about the old vs new backup method here: https://supabase.com/docs/guides/platform/backups

Monitoring - Project actions (creation, unpauses, read replica creation, upgrades) have been re-enabled, and the team is monitoring.
Jan 28, 20:13 UTC
Update - We have received word from our upstream partner that their issue has been resolved. The team is currently testing all functionality on our side and cleaning up previously errored requests. Once we're confident things are back to normal, we'll resume project actions in the region.
Jan 28, 20:01 UTC
Update - We are continuing to monitor for resolution of the upstream provider incident.

Identified - We continue to monitor for resolution of the upstream provider incident.
Jan 28, 18:45 UTC
Update - Instance operations in eu-west-1 are impacted by an ongoing infrastructure provider incident causing network issues in the region.

Affected operations include new project creation, unpauses, read replica creation, and upgrades. Existing projects are unaffected.

Our provider is aware of the issue and we already see error rates and latency trending down. We will update as the situation progresses.

Investigating - We are investigating issues affecting instance operations in the eu-west-1 region. This may impact new project creation, project unpauses, read replica creation, and upgrades. Existing projects remain unaffected.
Jan 28, 17:02 UTC
Resolved - Between 6am and 7am UTC our Supavisor cluster experienced instability, resulting in elevated error rates and increased client reconnects.

The issue has since been resolved, and the service is operating normally. We are currently reviewing preventative measures to reduce the likelihood of recurrence.

In progress - Scheduled maintenance is currently in progress. We will provide updates as necessary.
Jan 16, 02:30 UTC
Scheduled - We shall perform preventative maintenance on the Supabase Dashboard and Management API to promote platform stability

Maintenance Window:
- Start Time: 02:30 UTC on Jan 16, 2026
- End Time: 03:00 UTC on Jan 16, 2026

Impacted
- Dashboard and Management API may be slow or temporarily unavailable.
- Any operation that changes project configuration may fail or be delayed (e.g., project creation/deletion, Compute Add-ons, service config updates, Read Replicas, Edge Functions).
- Outgoing Auth emails will be impacted.

Not Impacted
- Customer projects and project traffic (HTTP APIs, Postgres queries) will continue to operate normally.

The affected operations will be impacted regardless of whether they’re carried out via the Supabase Dashboard, Supabase CLI, or any other client that interacts with the Management API.
