Hi, I just did import from two databases with similar data but with different history changes for some entries. And I notice that records that had most recent changes, like password, or note updated, are not replaced existing ones. Can you implement this option, it would be really helpful to sync different databases with history changes per entry. thanks. I tried "Synchronize" and it actually replaces entry with the newest changes password/notes to entry

Thank you for considering, my original idea, and you bring good points, and i think it's best NOT to introduce that "feature", as it can cause user mistakes by creating unencrypted container. Thank you.
crashinfo.txt attached. Also found an issue while converting fps: 59.** to fps: 25 was getting stuttering in the result. It could be a bad source file - can't provide, already removed.
Crash reason: Integer Divide-by-Zero
Switched back to imagemagick, and it got better, smaller, improved.
Works, thank you.
Hi, i have archive.part1.rar, .., archive.part3.rar And Call 7za archive.part1.rar gives ERROR: archive.part1.rar : Can not open the file as archive I use scripts to list and extract individual files, so what solution/action next ? Thanks.
It looks like Windows system does this [ not sure], but 'force dismount' when only $Extend caused no visible issue for me. Also checking 'Task Manager' to see no 'Writes' to the drive before dismount.
Additional argument: - while automated backup scripts starts, data storage gets real busy with read/write to max, and i'm ok with backup to takes a bit longer but on steady/ balanced r/w speed. - using it on Windows for 7-zip AES-256 encryption, not so much for high-compression ( bit unusual application).
Oh, thank you. 7-zip the best. Topic closed/answered.
Main load goes on HDD, since extracting reads data as fast as possible. It would be efficient to tick the option that will limit Read rate. Method of compression does not matter, talking about the speed limit on data read/write. Just wandering if it would be possible for you to implement this as feature.
Hi, - is it possible to add an option into 7-zip manager and SDK to read/write input/output files at user set constant rate. Purpose: - while unzip big files, drive gets busy, and limits other data access. - i'm in no rush to unzip, and would like to limit the speed mentaining the balance of data input/output load ! Thank you.
And just installed latest VC Redist. 2015-2019: did not helped, and you should look into it. Confirming: replace 9.0.30729.6161 with 9.0.21022.8 works. Thanks.
Will test. Thanks.

True, same thing, and you found a fix/workaround. Any issues with that ?
Crash on switching from vfw265 to ffmpeg encoder
v1.3.35 works fine. Don't know what is changed in this version but getting this error. I have all the VS redist installed from 2005 to 2019. Any suggestion.
> releases some sticky handles Not sure is that is true.
Did: Close all apps that may have handles to the drive Tried to dismount, VeraC says 'drive use used..' Process Explorer show some System handles on the drive ( attachment) I forced dismount Questions: Is it safe to Force Dismount in this situation How to stop system from keeping handles on the drive [ love clean dismounts] Thanks.
Thanks, sure.
Update On Windows 10 2004 same procedure does Not eats Ram, so i presume that the problem was in Windows 8.1, Windows 10 1607. For now issue fixed, looks like.
No issues, with speed or reading. But eating of the ram for exact size accumulative hash-sha1 making app get to read, and for the size of DVD it's ~4.7gb. And Ram freed only after dismount of the vera file-container.
No. DVD[ UDF]\file.veracontainer[ aes] 1. Insert dvd into drive 2. Mount file container [ read-only automaticaly] 3. sha1 on all files/folders And i see how how Ram get eaten. Looks like mem. leak to me.

I did: Mound 'file container' resided on DVD Started sha1 generation on files/folders [ around 500files in 4.5gb] And notice how Ram got steady eaten up Ram freed only when dismounted 'file container' Is it normal, or is it leak. On my perception it's normal when Ram is gone on simple data read, and i think it has to do something with a veracrypt. v.1.24 Update 6 tested on Win8.1x64, Win10x64
v1.24-u6 Doc says: " If you are creating a container in the FAT file system, the option Dynamic will be disabled (“grayed out”).", but nothing happens while changing Filesystem And i expect, after checkbox [V] Dynamic, Filesystem sets to "NTFS" Please confirm or correct me.
Idea: create container filesystem write files burn file-container to dvd Have questions: At creating file-container, how to allocate right size that will fit nice on the DVD 4.7GB ? [ container file will have bigger size than file-system inside] exFat or NTFS ? [ exFat is less redundant with data, but for this case is it better ?] Re-Use, Re-Format or Re-Create file-container for better security and redundancy of deleted files ? All suggestions are welcome. Thanks.
Yes, it's will simplify, but would be even better, if by option i be able Not to use the encryption, and then will be no need for key/pass; Just filesystem in the container menaged by Veracrypt.
H: Begin creating 'file container' with 'quick format' for 300gb, and After 10min i pressed 'Abort' and nothing happened, process continued v1.24-update 6 win10 x64 How to explain this ?
I'm aware of VHD, and VeraCrypt is more convenient for me to use, so i rather have noCrypt additional option in VeraCrypt, since i use it everyday.
Making an option for the user to be able to create FileContainer with fileSystem without encryption Will extend functionality. Cheers.
Sometimes i Don't need an encryption, but still need to use an FileContained filesystem that is separated from the base drive, and for that reason i don't need to use folders. And i now using VC for FileContainers, but it would be better, if there was an option Not to use encryption on File based Contained filesystem. What is your role in VeraCrypt development ?
To be short: VeraCrypt Container without encryption.
For my usage i need: 1. File-Container, with 2. File System, that 3. Can be mounted as Virtual Drive 4. No Encryption required [ unnecessary overhead] Currentyl using: - VereCrypt for PartitionEncryption and FileContainers I need FileContainers to group specific files, and instead of using Folders i need VirtualFilesystems. It has to do with MFT, and i decided, that is better for my usage to quick mount/dismount specific container, than always have VeraPartition mounted. Plus i prefer to store 15k+...
Love veracrypt, and it would be nice if i could create File-Container without encryption. I understant this feels like bad idea, but let say, via cmd-line argument let user to choose not to use encryption, just make container with a files system. Thanks.
Thank You
Commented[ #]: osgi.instance.area.default=@user.home/.rssowl2 osgi.configuration.area=@user.home/.rssowl2/config221 in configuration\config.ini and made rssowl portable
Maybe, but i'm talking here only about creating: when i expect .7z ext. to be even if filename contains dots. I think it's a bug, and strange that someone wants to have no descriptive extention. It's up to you, and this is just my opinion. Thanks anyway, love 7z.
Ok, found the problem, just had archive created without .7z ext. It happens when the filename contains dots like Thunderbird_52.9.1, and .1 become an file extention. But you know how to fix this: 1. if app knows the filename without ext. 2. append apropriate .7z .zip .. ext. to the resulting name/path after Step #7 [ look up] Test it, and hope you understand that inconvenience manually adding .7z extention. Thanks.
Just tested, and did created .7z with ext. Definitely in some situations i had created archive without ext [ can't reproduce now]. But for the peace of mind, can you implement appending automaticaly apropriate ext. after "Browse" dialog.
Ok, using: 7-Zip 18.06 ( x64) [ under win10_x64] doing: 1. start 7-Zip app 2. paste "c:\temp\" in the [ source folder] field and press "enter" 3. [ getting list of files], and "click" on file "test_7-Zip.txt" [ got selected] 4. press button "+ADD" [ got dialog with selected filename], and 5. i press right most button "..." to "browse" [ opens dialog] 6. [ i have selected filename without .7z ext] 7. i press on keyboard "home" and "ctrl+v" to paste desired dest path "c:\" and then press "enter", and...
Hi, Situation: 1. i select file/folder and then press 'Add..' 2. i got nice dialog and in the field 'Archive' nice filename with a .7z ext. 3. i press '...' to browse for the destination folder of the future .7z archive 4. and prepend 'c:\temp\' to the filename [ without .7z ext] and 'Enter', and 5. i get filename without .7z ext. i know the proper way to select dest folder, but i know my way is quicker for me. Can you make that .7z ext also be properly placed at the end when doing my way ? Than...
Hi, yes 1. had installed 1.21 on Win10x64 at ..Program Files [ as usual] 2. then couple days ago created folder '1.22' in 'veracrypt' and extracted portable in it 3. rebooted system and launched veracrypt-x64.exe 4. then mount process took longer before it actually accessed hdd to mount it 5. it persisted over each reboot so it did: replaced all files from '1.22' folder over c:\Program Files\Veracrypt rebooted system and now works better then 1.21, and now mount delay issue
Hi, just switched to 1.22 portable and notice that it takes longer [ doing something] before it access hdd to mount partition-volume. And i want to know what changes causing it, is it expected [ like more iteration, ] ? Thanks.
On linux ntfs part could not mount after prpper volume password: for a moment i can see that /dev/sda1 volume is mounted but then some issue with ntfs and it dismounts volume. I saw that feature in the truecrypt, but in vera can't found this solution to rescue files with testdisk. Suggestions ?
