I'm disappointed that no one offered help here, it is very quiet here. I got it figured out though. It was a combination of settings I needed to change.

I tried setting in settings my time to 30 seconds but I still can't get the looper to record, or perhaps its a problem with playback, I don't know. Using Linux Mint 19.3. The other effects seem to work.
