The recommended way to get Samscope on Ubuntu is using Launchpad
PPA system (see https://launchpad.net/~cryptickrisp/+archive/samscope ).

Using PPA the three line install process is as follows:
 sudo apt-add-repository ppa:cryptickrisp/samscope
 sudo apt-get update
 sudo apt-get install samscope
