  • Been using this for many many years. It does exactly what I need - lots more in fact. I initially tried others but most charge a fee. I am not a coder, albeit I have worked in an around IT for a long time , and have an (un?)healthy interest in computing, but I really don't understand what is so complicated for some. I have found it more than worth the minor effort involved in learning how to use it for the benefit it provides in daily use.

  • I have spent four hours trying to get this to work, so far I have one database and one entry into it, which I just deleted trying to enter a new entry. The tutorial is brutally difficult to follow, it depends on a level of coding expertise that I don't have time to develop. (I'm 67) I was looking for a password manager that would function like the one that comes with the Brave browser, and this isn't that, not even close. The reviews are amazing, but I think (after trying to make it work) that all the reviewers are either professional code writers or hackers. The complexity of the menus should have let me know that I would never be able to make it work, but then by accident I found the tutorial. For me, it's faster and easier to make a paper diary with all my passwords. I'd just keep using Brave, but it just deleted all my passwords. Guess I'll just repopulate that one at a time with my paper backup. The scary thing is how dependent the rest of us are, and how poorly you coders communicate directions for using the tools that you make.

  • Works great to keep track of hundreds of passwords. I've been using it over 10 years now, and recommended it to my friends and family who use it too.
  • I've used it for many years, and sync/share the db with KeePassDroid for my phone. I see a new file format in 2.48, and would like to install immediately, but for the concern that the droid app might not understand it. The web site help has filled in knowledge gaps, so I've not needed to reach out for support.
  • Excellent software which makes my online life easier and safe. Easy to use, you can access it from all kinds of devices. P.S. Try not to forget master password :)
  • A great App. I am still using the 1.x version. It meets my needs and I have yet to find a compelling reason to switch to the 2.x version. I use it on three PCs and I use an Android adaption on my phone. It is easy to use and has helped me remember all those unique passwords for obscure websites that require a login to use them. Thank you for creating and maintaining this wonderful app. My only complaint has nothing to do with the App itself but with an extension to it for backing up the database. It quit working a while ago and stated telling me that the handle for the backup file is invalid, apparently, according to the developer, it is an obscure system problem that I have not had the desire to track down.

  • Great product! Developers please note, v2.47 just released has an error. When launching, I get 'Configuration error' window with a link to to file. 'Failed to load the specified file! ".", hexadecimal value 0x00, is an invalid character. Line 1, position 1 (ok button to dismiss). Keepass will maybe overwrite the configuration file. Therefore a backup has been created (with a hyperlink to file included). The program still opens, and changes seem to be saved. When closing the program you get this window: Configuration error! (link to program file) Failed to save to the specified file! Access is denied (ok button to dismiss) Any way you could fix this with an update? Thank you!

This is a system problem, not a KeePass bug. If you need help resolving it, please ask in the help forum: https://sourceforge.net/p/keepass/discussion/329221/ Thanks!

  • I love this app. I also keep things like high value item serial numbers and software license codes stored in this app. This is a very versatile program. You can limit access to a single thumb drive, but if you need to access from various devices, you can also load this into a cloud storage such as OneDrive, your choice. I also appreciate the fact this is not a web-based application. The user interface is pretty straightforward and no-nonsense. I find this app to be the most secure of all of the PW mgr apps I have used. Just don't forget the master password.

  • Password is secret. Password is safe.
  • The best password manager. Iam using for several years now.
  • I would not say I will install it to my mom, but for reasonably knowledgeable people it is a fantastic tool!
  • After getting locked out from another paid PW manager when I changed my password, I downloaded KeePass. After entering over 200 passwords manually, I finally have my passwords back. I love that I can save it to a thumb drive and physically keep a copy separate from any cloud storage, but can also save the file to any or all of my other cloud storage accounts I have. I've yet to learn all the features, but the autotype works perfectly. And, did I mention it is FREE!

  • It can be a tough cookie and it requires A LOT of patience but as of now? It is the best tool on the market. If you need to keep your passwords safe - use it.

  • It is a good way to keep passwords safe and keep them all in one spot. It can be clunky but it does what it is supposed to do.
  • I´m totally content with it
  • HIGHLY RECOMMENDED: I have used Keepass and Kee (formerly KeeFox) with Firefox for years now. It has never failed me, and I've never had any problems with the Keepass app.
