The latest version of RT won't start because it fails it's Java version check. I currently have Java 1.7.x installed, but the RT error message calls for Java 1.6.x
The Recommendation Tracker must be run on Java 1.6.x due to an incompatibility between supporting libraries and Java 1.7. There are no plans to address this issue as of now.

as 1.6.x is effectively end of public support by Oracle, I don't suppose there is an alternative workaround...
