#19 PROS won't install properly under Windows 10

I am trying to install PROS on a Windows 10 computer, and the installation is faulty. The Vex menu does not appear, there is no "Vex Cortex PROS Project" item in the "File / New" submenu, and the Vex Cortex PROS Perspective plugin is not listed in the Plug-Ins list of the "Installation Details" dialog. I have had no trouble installing on Windows 7.

I assume that the problem will be solved if I can install the "Vex Cortex PROS Project" plugin; is there any way to do that?

I have installed PROS version 2b10, using an installer downloaded today (June 1, 2016), and have the 64 bit version of Java 8 update 92 installed. The operating system is Windows 10 Pro.

    Update: I checked the plugins folder in both my Windows 10 and my Windows 7 installation. Both have three com.purduesigbots jar files:

      • newcortexproject_1.0.0.3.jar
    • perspective_1.0.0.3.jar
    • vexflash_1.0.0.6.jar

    The "PROS for Vex Cortex" perspective is not available under Windows 10, but is available under Windows 7.

    The "Debug" perspective is available under Windows 10 but not under Windows 7.

    Windows 10 error log includes three "Plug-in 'org.eclipse.cdt.ui' contributed an invalid Menu Extension" errors that appear during startup; the log file is attached to this message. These errors are not present in Windows 7 installation.

    The sourceforge project is dead and the project has been migrated to github. Please follow the project here: https://github.com/purduesigbots/purdueros/releases

    If you still have these issues with the new windows installer in the PROS 1.6 release please follow up on github but we are close to release the 2.0 version of the environment by end of month so it maybe worth to wait until those are available.
