Those settings are part of the password generation profile which is handled by KeePass itself. If you don't save the profile, whatever settings you set will be retained only until you select another profile. Once you do so, all those settings are overwritten by the profile you selected. Note that the custom profile is just a placeholder for an unsaved profile. This also gets overwritten by the settings of a profile you select. Sorry but that is out of the scope of this project. It sounds interesting but since adding the button for auto generating a username is non-trivial, it belongs in its own plugin anyway.
