Whether you have been emulating/simulating for years or the idea of simulating another computer on your computer seems foreign, this is the place to start. Project-11 simulates the DEC (Digital Equipment Corporation) PDP-11 16-bit minicomputer. The goal of Project-11 is to have as many configurations of operating systems and PDP-11 models in one place with a similar format all the while teaching the history of these and other computers.To this end, Project-11 utilizes Robert Supnik's SIMH.

If you aren't familiar with any of this please go to [Introducing Simulation] and then [Introducing the PDP-11] and finally [PDP-11 Models and Operating Systems] before downloading and setting up.
