Does anyone have any solid documentation about how to get OrkWeb up and
going either on Windows or in Linux?

For Windows, I did finally get most of the directory structure and stuff
working out in Tomcat, and got the webpage to actually work, but I cant
login to it - I tried using the same password as I used when I setup the
MySQL database.

For Linux, no matter what distro I use, I cant find all the dependencies
that are required - anyone have any luck here?

Most likely, your SPAN is wrongly configured to monitor only one direction.
It should be set to "both".

 

You can take a pcap trace with Wireshark or tcpdump, zip it and send it to
me offline.

About tracking: just ignore it, orkaudio will work just fine standalone,
even if no tracker is listening.

 

Otherwise, TapeFileNaming only works on the latest svn trunk. See details
below.

 

About the "native" format. This allows you to not do any transcoding. You
can do the transcoding later using "orkaudio transcode file.mcf"

It is possible to configure the path to which audio files are written as
well as the audio file names as a combination of the following dynamic
parameters:

 

[nativecallid] This is the call ID extracted from the underlying protocol
(SIP, Cisco Skinny, ...)

[trackingid] This is the internal Oreka tracking ID

[direction] in, out or unkn 

[shortdirection] I, O or U

[remoteparty]

[localparty]

[localip]

[remoteip]

[hostname]

[year]

[day]

[month]

[hour] in 24 hours format

[min]

[sec]

 

You can also use any additional custom extracted field by using its field
name as a key. e.g for a SIP field called X-Unique-ID:

The TapeFileNaming tape processor needs to be added to the list of
processors in the orkaudio config.xml file:

 

<TapeProcessors>BatchProcessing, TapeFileNaming, Reporting</TapeProcessors>

 

And the following configuration parameters need to be added under the
config.xml root node (this is just an example):

<TapeFileNaming>myrecording,[hour],[min],[sec],_,[shortdirection],_,[remotep

I am thinking really of, for example3, the way Asterisk does it. A
"make install" will not automatically install the /etc/ config files,
with the risk of overwriting working configs. Instead, you can type
"make samples" and it will install sample config files names, for
example /etc/orkaudio/config.xml.sample

That way there is zero chance of accidentally trashing a working config.

Yes I did that yesterday and it did work and I can hear the recordings
alright. However, still remains the security issue I mentioned below. I can
put the full HTTP path of the wav file without having to log in..
For example:
http://10.11.220.10:8080//2009/07/26/19/20090726_191754_10.121.230.30,29990.
wav  plays with no problems.

Just make sure the AudioOutputPath points to Tomcat/webapps/ROOT.

I got orkaudio, orkweb, and orktrack all working fine under Windows XP. My
problem is the common problem of getting the recorded files to playback in
OrkWeb. I read all similar post in the forum but I noticed that it seems I
am doing something wrong.

 

I used orkaudio-0.5-313-win32-installer.exe to install OrkAudio which
installs by default in C:\Program Files\Orkaudio accordingly the recordings
are saved in the AudioRecordings folder under this path. 

 

OrkWeb is installed under C:\Program Files\Apache Software Foundation\Tomcat
5.0\webapps\orkweb. 

I noticed that the Java script play button is pointing to the URL
http://10.11.220.10:8080//2009/07/26/19/20090726_191754_10.121.230.30,29990.

The WAV files are of course not located in that folder and that is why they
are not reachable even by IE. 

 

So what is the right method if getting the recordings be saved in the proper
Tomcat OrkWeb folder. Also it is important that these files are not
reachable unless the correct credentials for the OrkWeb are entered.

Have a look at the service table in MySQL and change the file serve port to
what you need.

I did finally find this information and it worked to some extent.  I was
able to start logging calls but the links to the audio files through the
website still pointed to port 8080.

 

So for now I have changed everything to port 8080, but I would love it if
you could tell me how to change the ports  from 8080 for the audio links
through the website.  I saw that it had something to do with changing
something in the mysql database but I just couldn't get it figured out
completely.

Changing to port 80 is your problem, you need to have this in config.xml
next to <TrackerHostname>:

 

<TrackerTcpPort>80</TrackerTcpPort>

 

And restart orkaudio.

I am using Windows XP professional and have installed Orkaudio and
Orktrack/Orkweb and all the pre-requisites.  I am able to capture audio
calls and hear them by opening the wav files from the local hard disk.

 

I can access the orkweb application and login.  But I get no results when
searching.  I have read over the troubleshooting and changed the audio
storing path to point to C:\Program Files\Apache Software Foundation\Tomcat
5.5\webapps\ROOT  but this still does not allow it to work.  

 

So after looking at my orkaudio.log file I am getting the following error:

ERROR reporting:116 - Could not contact orktrack

 

I opened mysql.hbm.xml in both the c:\oreka\orekweb and c:\oreka\orektrack
to verify the settings are correct and they are.  Everything is running off
the same computer (mysql, tomcat, orkaudio, orkweb, and orktrack etc.)  I'm
using the same username and password for database access for both orktrack
and orkweb.  So if it was a problem with access I would imagine the orkweb
would not work.

 

The only thing I skewed in my installation is that I set the Tomcat to work
on port 80 instead of 8080.  I don't think this would be a problem but then
again this is my first time installing these softwares.

The softphone (running on my PC) is a SIP extension on Asterisk. The To:
number is my desk phone. The From: on the B leg is the VoIP account
defined in the SIP trunk in Asterisk and registered at my gateway.

In orkaudio config.xml if I leave all the options in the VoIpPlugin
section commented out, I can record the call but only get the IP
addresses for the softphone and Asterisk and no Direction. I've tried
mucking around with AllowedIpRanges, LanMasks and MediaGateways to no
avail. Any of the settings I've tried cause the call not to be recorded.

How can I configure my VoIpPlugin section so I can record the call with
the From: To: and Direction: fields populated with the right values?

If someone can explain how the LanMasks is supposed to work that would
be very helpful. The documentation doesn't make it clear exactly what
type of values it expects. Is it a netmask style mask or a CIDR value?
The examples in the file aren't very helpful.

Hi All,

I have installed orkaudio on a Windows Vista machine and can see no captured
voice conversations.  Orkaudio is installed on a Windows 2003 server and is
working fine.

Something I noticed was that during installation, the wincap monitor driver
does not bind to the NIC (it's doesn't show either).  So I tried to install
Network Monitor Driver 3 for Vista and reinstall wincap but didn't work.

Any ideas?

We are using orkaudio to record calls with a 24 channel line. Recording is
going fine. These are open lines to other end. So it is doing recording for
all time. Is there any way with that we can stop and start the recording
when conversation going on. Because there is no dialing in our system. Or is
there any solution with we can remove silence after recording has been done.

I have experienced this behaviour also. The IP address used is the
address of the RTP stream. In my environment I have separate IP
addresses for SIP signalling and RTP. 202.169.178.12 is the IP address
for the RTP streeam of the originating gateway and 203.212.16.229 is the
orkaudio box. The examples below seems to indicate that the local/remote
party is determined by whoever starts sending RTP packets first. The
recording itself still records OK.

Any chance of changing it so that doing a 'make install' does not overwrite
a pre-existing config.xml or other config files? Twice now I have got caught
by this ;-(

installing config.xml.dist, or having a 'make config' would be far better.
