Dean, Skype uses an encrypted and non-standard protocol and Oreka works through packet interception. If it was possible to intercept an encrypted steam and record it, it would actually defeat the purpose of encrypting. So no, it won't work. Try to test this on standard SIP for example. Henri _____ From: ore...@li... [mailto:ore...@li...] On Behalf Of Dean Bisseker Sent: 25 avril 2008 03:33 To: ore...@li... Subject: [Oreka-user] Windows version I installed this Windows version) on my xp laptop. The service starts up and entries in the log look fine but I get no wav files when I make a skype call. If I swap to using the generator.dll then I get wav files produced no problem, just can't get any VoiP calls recorded, which unfortunately is the bit I'm after. I tried all the troubleshooting tips from the user manual, except for ethereal, which I couldn't manage to download. Just a simple question really, does the Windows version work? I don't mind trying the linux version if it doesn't, I just thought I'd ask first. I am a developer, so I don't mind digging into the code. I tried to get it to compile, but on this laptop I only have Visual Studio 2005 and 2008 and it wouldn't compile in those due to problems with ACE. I'll dig more into that later. The end objective is to record calls from my companies VoiP phone system, but just as a first step I thought I would start with a simple skype call on this pc, that seems logical? Dean |

Jonathan, You should be fine; orkaudio has a system for discarding duplicate RTP packets based on sequence numbers. Duplicate SIP should not pose a problem either. Henri _____ From: ore...@li... Subject: Re: [Oreka-user] Network Tap and Oreka Follow - up question: 1) Will orkaudio discard duplicate packets from the same sip (and necessarily rtp) session? a. I have to dual tap, once on the lan and once on the wan because the switch will not always transmit sip/rtp through the lan when the call is from the wan and then redirected back out the wan (as in sip trunking). In order to capture these calls, I must tap the wan, but I must also tap the lan for internal calls. So sometimes orkaudio will have the same set of sip/rtp packets through each separate tap (4 nics - 2taps), because calls through the wan will go on through the lan. b. If orkaudio does not discard duplicate packets, will I have duplicate calls or "funny" audio on the final .wav file? This one was caused by simple network issues. I just changed the hosts file to point to orkweb on the distant machine, since it was running a ms win workgroup. Jonathan, There has been changes in TapeFileNaming, directories do not go flat anymore. If you want to control directory naming, you need to use TapePathNaming. Henri _____ From: ore...@li... What i'd suggest is maybe install sox onto your system and then use soxmix to merge the 2 files together. I'm sure one can easily incorporate sox into oreka. Let me know if you need help with this.
