Tried the same with the latest beta 7.0b8 and it did have an application crash but it was more graceful. 3 events were reported as before but the app remained active and reported the following error:
Grpc.Core.RpcException: Status(StatusCode="Unavailable", Detail="failed to connect to all addresses")
at async Task<bool> GrpcDotNetNamedPipes.Internal.MessageReader<tmessage>.MoveNext(CancellationToken cancellationToken)
at async Task<tmessage> GrpcDotNetNamedPipes.Internal.MessageReader<tmessage>+<>c__DisplayClass9_0.<readnextmessage>b__0(?)+(?) => { }

Ben, this is not an outlook crash. This is a NAPS2 crash. the tags are "outlook" and "crash", not "outlook crash". NAPS2 crashes when trying to send email. look at the event logs and at the errors.
