alvarado: The lti::channelStatistics functor now requires a typical channel8 mask instead of a matrix<bool> to indicate which pixels should be considered and which not. The reason is that the channel8 masks are much easier to produce than the matrix<bool> which are now deprecated (replaced by genericMatrix<bool>.

alvarado: @CHG: The Makefile for the Linux version has been improved/changed in several ways: first, the hardware or additional libraries or paths are now given using an external file called extrapaths.mk. This way, the additional paths will survive a reconfiguration using the configure script or even updates of the whole library. This option has been documented in the main page of the on-line documentation, under "some tips for the supported compilers". The "tester" has been deprecated and the old "BUILDRELEASE" flag has been remoded, since it lead to much confusion. Now only the dtester, rtester and ptester for debug, release or profile respectively, are supported. A link from tester to dtester is done to keep some compatibility with the past, but this will be changed soon.
