Nice to know its fixed anyway. I had to upload a RC4-2 package to fix some cut&paste problem with the Debian init.d script. I had an old initialise line in there. No impact on the upstream source. - Craig -- Craig Small GnuPG:1C1B D893 1418 2AF4 45EE 95CB C76C E5AC 12CA DFA5 http://www.enc.com.au/ csmall at : enc.com.au http://www.debian.org/ Debian GNU/Linux, software should be Free |

I've realized my last patch to not link all generated binaries with all libraries missed something, causing libssl to be added to everthing still. (And twice everything it is needed, according to the Debina buildd logs, so save to remove). -------- Original Message -------- Subject: Google Summer of Code 2008, Call for Mentors Date: Wed, 19 Mar 2008 15:22:35 +0100 From: Marc Balmer <ma...@ms...> To: xo...@li... == The X.Org Foundation Is Looking for Project Mentors During Google Summer of Code 2008 == As you may have heard, the X.Org foundation in 2008 again takes part in Google's Summer of Code program to allow students to work on X11. GSoC students need experienced X11 developers as mentors, who can work with them to make sure their projects are of the right size and scope and the students finish their project with success. And they sometimes need a little poking to deliver their results and reports timely and properly. We are looking for personalities that not only know how to fire up and editor, compiler and debugger, but that also have strong personal skills and can supervise a student during a several month long period. It's a dream job you won't find in any company: Be a manager and still able to work on low-level technical stuff. Besides mentoring the student and helping him or her to be on track, you will regularely report the project status to me, so I can supervise all projects and make sure they all are successful. If you think you are the right person for mentoring a project, then please get in contact with me and tell me a bit about yourself, your education, and if you have, any teaching or project management experience. And most important: Why you think you are the right person to the job. The X.Org GSoC 2008 can be a successful experience for all participants if we have good mentors, motivated students and an overall good spirit. hi all, can we save this problem for the next release ? we had already discussed that we would release the lasted rc as final and i think we should continue with that now. re, wh Bernhard R. I've looked at http://bugs.debian.org/276711 and the sources and it looks like we have an issue or documentation contradicting implementation and the implementation causing unsafe defaults: lpd.n claims $X is quoted and $'X is unquoted. The documentation about filters in LPRng-Reference says $X is unquoted, $'X is quoted. The examples speak about using a $' form, but do not use it. the part about filter_options again says that $X is quoted, while $'X is unquoted. On the other hand, the code makes $X (which is in the defaults) unquoted. Hochachtungsvoll, Bernhard R. Link |
