I have to take in count the costs of accomodation. I could travel by train to save some bucks. What do you propose to be a cheep plan? How much could you estimate it would cost to stay 4 days and travel by train from Granada to Brussels and back? This was such a great idea!, tomorrow I'll think better about it and see if it's possible. I'll go to sleep now. > Wybo > > (I've replied this one back to the list) > > > -- > > Bruno > > ------------------------------------------------------------------------- > Take Surveys. Earn Cash. We are glad to announce the 28th of January - with a wink and a smile ;-) - as the World LogiLogi Day. If you like parties, if you ever wondered what LogiLogi Manta is exactly, or if you would like to use it with many other people all over the world at the same time, you are welcome to join us on this day in: * the Netherlands, Groningen, starts at 20:00 (but you're welcome at any time), at the Spaanse Aakstraat 49, just behind the Northern Station * Britain, Bradford, location: the 12 in 1 club (http://www.1in12.go-legend.net/) * Uruguay, maybe at Bruno's place ? And - of course - online on freenode.net in #logilogi and on the pre- alpha of Manta itself (http://www.logilogi.org:3000/). Wybo |

It would be great to meet you in person, and you're very welcome in Groningen to stay for a few days at my place! Wybo (I've replied this one back to the list) > -- > Bruno |

How are things ? Already had a look at the pre-alpha of Manta ? http://www.logilogi.org:3000/ Any ideas, or comments on the UI ? (for the coming month we will be pressing towards the first release, but still I do consider comments on/suggestions about it very valuable). Wybo |

Bruno how was your holiday ? I saw a movie that was made in Uruguay, yesterday (La Perrera)... It was quite a nice movie, although not very happy in it's atmosphere... Rails 1.2 is out, and Manta works well with it now! (after some restructuring ;) I've also changed the voting to work with RJS now, which allows all parts of the page displaying something related to ratings & voting- power to be updated on each vote. greetings, Wybo |

LogiLogi Manta is now using OpenID for authentication. This means that we don't use the LoginEngine anymore, and that people will be able to login much easier, as they don't need to create a new account if they already have an OpenID at some other site. I'm going to get myself a LogiLogi shirt to wear at the World LogiLogi day (and at Fosdem), tomorrow ;) Wybo |

I am implementing OpenID for Manta, expect the commit tomorrow. This allows us to get rid of the LoginEngine, which was not really upto any Rails coding standards. Also I like the ideas behind OpenID, and it fits in nicely with my long term vision for LogiLogi. After that I will be working on allowing comments to Logi's (documents). Wybo |

The pre-alpha at http://www.logilogi.org:3000/ was offline for some time due to a problem with Pstore sessions that came to light when the google spiders came in, but it's fixed & back now by storing sessions in the db now! A rake redo_dev_db is needed. And now let us welcome Ibrahim Yetkin! > Hi, > > I would like to join to the project LogiLogi Manta as a Rails developer. > I have some experienced in Rails. I have a 6 years professional > programming experinces. > I would like to joing this project to develop my skills in Rails. You are welcome to our project, things that you could do are creating the controller-function, CSS and view for the printer-friendly versions of documents, or you could choose to do the history-display. Of course if there are other parts you'd rather work on, you're free to do so. If you create/have a SourceForge account, I can give you commit-rights. > Please contact me if you interested. I've also CC'd the reply to your hotmail-account. greetings, Wybo Wiersma |

I submitted Manta to Ohloh, the new FOSS-stats site. Have a look: http://ohloh.net/projects/3990 I've also done yet another commit. Note that a rake redo_dev_db is needed to get it running, as I've changed a few small things in the db structure (removed the nr_of_history_items setting, and added position_nrs to Taggings). greetings, Wybo |

I just added the UI-part of the basic user-functions like signing up, logging in and editing User-settings (note that PrefsProfiles and the like still have to be done) and basic Searching + a first listing of results with Ferret (not very pretty, but working ;-). Still much to do, but moving closer, Wybo |

Thanks for the good news! I'm in Valizas, Rocha, Uruguay right now, in a howse in the beach! I have to travel one hour to get to a PC, we are very far away from civilization, about a half hour walking! we are fully enjoying, and when I get to the mail, I always get some great news from LL and it's great! thanks man! I like the way you are organizing the information, but it's too much at the moment I believe, we'll have to see how to hide some (we had already talked some ideas). Have to go now, Later. -- Bruno |

Good news! I will be giving a presentation about Manta at the Fosdem Conference in Brussels on the 26th of February! 15 minutes, starting at 11:00, in front of upto 300 people! Also some people I know in London (the ESPians I visited a few weeks ago) will be organizing a LogiLogi-party/meetup on the 28th of this month. We might have at least a workable version by then (less than 3 weeks!). I will also be organizing a LL-party here in Groningen then. I've just committed the newest changes to the UI. I've added the link-drop-down menu's! They're fully AJAXified, and work at least in Firefox. Besides this, I've also changed the style of the edit, history, etc.-links. Also already in the previous commit I removed the received/requested-url-bar from the bottom, to make the layout simpler to the eye. All in all Manta really starts to come alive now! To update it at home a redo_dev_db is required for the visitor- counter to work. Note that there were some issues with the Mongrel server at www.logilogi.org halting for some reason (happened after the previous commit). Let's home it stays up now: http://www.logilogi.org:3000/ Let me know what you think of it so far... Wybo |

Wybo, I'm sorry but I dind't spent the time necessary on the GUI and I'm leaving in a couple of hours to Valizas, so I didn't finished my part. I'm really sorry about this. I also feel I didn't spent the time to the project I'd had liked to. You can use this code http://overbits.com:3000/index_new_gui.html although it's not finished. As I told you, after the following months I'd like to spend more time on LogiLogi. I have to go now, I'll check mail in a couple of days. Happy holidays! -- Bruno |

Christmas was fun, and it was good to be with family. I've just committed the first batch of tested integrity- & user- permissions-code (for UserGroups, PeerGroups, Users, and Logis). Tomorrow the rest will follow (Tags, Words & Senses). I've also fixed the problem that some tests sometimes succeeded when ran separately, but failed when ran with rake test_units. This fix requires the testcase_setup_and_teardown_with_blocks- plugin, which will be installed automatically as an external on updating your svn-copy. In the process I've also fixed a small bug in Rails stable. Also a rake redo_dev_db is required due to the removal of PersonalUserGroup as a separate class (combined with UserGroup now). Now let's go from the Ho, ho, ho of Santa to Let's do, do, do and make it happen of our rising Manta ;) Wybo |

I hoped to be able to give you all the commit of the back-end integrity-code for Christmas, but there are still some bits untested and unfinished... so this is still in the queue... Anyway I wish all of you a Merry Christmas! Bruno, Miguel, Jennifer, Rick and the others... greetings, and happy holidays, Wybo |
