Ok I understand. 

Halfway july we can get back to it and start putting up proposals &
discuss them more. I will get back to it after the conferences...

Indeed & ok, and yes the new frontpage will require some refactoring.

Ok. That should be fairly ok with a 1200x800 resolution. I think we
should aim for a minimum width of 1024, and still look good, that is
not too crammed at 1280x1024.

I think this is a nice idea, but we have to be a bit practical too.
Also some of the browser-compatibility-hacks we applied require fixed
positioning of some elements... Also I think that first of all the
site should look good at normal monitors, and no sacrifice in terms
of that should be made to make it more flexible or resizable.

This because imho soon enough (a few years) all mobile phones / PDA's
with webbrowsing capabilities will also have 1024xX screens, and
vanilla browsers, so all work would have been in vain...

That's an interesting idea, but then browsing down might be hard, or
quickly switching to another tree... But we will see at end of july...
