It was pointed out to me quite a while ago that for a proper multicast capability it's necessary to be able to specify which network interface a message should be sent through. I have finally gotten around to implementing this (by necessity of course ;) and so I added a commit providing the new functions: int lo_address_set_iface(lo_address t, const char *iface, const char *ip); lo_address_get_iface(lo_address t); It takes either a string describing the network name or a string describing a local IP address, which it will search for the associated network interface. The main difficulty was making sure this works on IPv6, so I spent time making sure it handled that, but if you happen to use it let me know if you find any problems. I didn't write an accompanying function to enumerate local interfaces, because there is a POSIX function "if_nameindex" which does this in a pretty straight-forward manner. If this function is never called, the operating system will determine a default network interface as before. Steve |
