LEAF developers can sometimes get caught out because the pre-requisites specified for the Build Host (patch, fakeroot etc.) are not installed. The required items are documented in the Wiki but it would be even better if there was a utility to automatically check that these requirements are satisfied.
This would be a reasonable simple enhancement to buildtool.pl.
Possible command syntax would be:
buildtool.pl checkbuildenv
