#193 No unresolved conflicts info in Status Bar (v0.9.98)

I guess this is a "bug" (at least it is unexpected behavior compared to previous versions).

With KDiff3 v0.9.98 (32 bit) on Win7, no info is displayed in KDiff3 Status Bar about the number of remaining unsolved conflicts. [e.g., after running a comparison in previous v0.9.97 (64-bit) on another Win7 machine, the Status Bar displays: "Number of remaining unsolved conflicts: 604 (of which 0 are whitespace)"]

Also, the v0.9.98 (32 bit) Status Bar is much too "fat" vertically, wasting screen real estate. It only needs to be thick enough for one line of text, once the above "bug" is fixed so the text displays.

For some reason I don't seem to have an option to edit my post above (as I can in the "Feature Requests" forum), so I'll just add the following as a "Reply" to my previous post:

I would also like the unresolved conflicts count to be persistent in the Status Bar.

(In earlier versions when the count did appear, it was only displayed briefly, immediately after a comparison or a refreshed comparison, and disappeared upon Menu Bar mouse-over or mouse-click on a document window.)

I guess if the unresolved conflicts count display is to remain persistent, the Status Bar might need to remain "fatter" vertically as it now is in v0.9.98 to accommodate both the unresolved conflicts count and the File/Line info that appears on the Status Bar upon mouse-click on a document window on 2 separate lines.

If so, I'm torn between the persistent display issue and the fat Status Bar issue. If it doesn't add too much complexity, perhaps there could be a selectable option to display both the unresolved conflicts count and the File/Line info only when needed (maybe a Diffview Menu option and/or Toolbar Button option, with a fatter Status Bar only when selected?). ...Or perhaps a mouse-click on the Status Bar could toggle between the unresolved conflicts count and the File/Line info (alleviating the need for a fatter Status Bar).

But whether the unresolved conflict count is displayed persistently or not, it seems crucial that it at least be displayed briefly after a comparison (as it was in previous versions) or displayable by some other means. AFAICT, the number count of unresolved conflicts is simply not available by any means in v0.9.98.

If the unresolved conflict count is to be displayed persistently, it would also be nice if the current and total number of differences (e.g., 43/85) could be incorporated into the persistent display. (See Feature Request #152 at https://sourceforge.net/p/kdiff3/feature-requests/152)

I've made the "Number of unresolved conflicts" message persistant (see git-head).
It will reappear if some other message came in between.

    Thanks, Joachim! :)

Do you have any estimate of approximately how long it might be before you release updated binaries with this and any other recent bug fixes or feature enhancements? (Given that nearly 20 months elapsed between v0.9.97 and v0.9.98, I realize it might be quite a while.)

I don't know how to build a binary from the source code, although I hope to teach myself how, and might be able to get to it within the next few months. (If I get to it before you release your next version, I'll be sure to let you know how it works.)

Thanks, again, for the bugfix and for KDiff3!

    Best regards!
