recently someone submitted a patch for ffmpeg, which
allows the lossless conversion of divx3 (aka msmpeg),
which is microsofts not really mpeg-4 compliant codec,
to an iso mpeg-4 compliant stream
i tested it and it seems to work very good, maybe if you
have time and its easy doable you want to look at it :)
i would love to be able to convert my old divx3 encodes
to new compliant .mp4 files :D

If the tool works fine, then use it to convert to a compliant
MPEG4 AVI. MP4Box will do the rest.
