Playing music with xmms through the crossfade-plugin works well until I go to 'pause' mode. When I restart from pause, I only get noise (sounds a little bit like LSB/MSB reversal).
Syslog shows the following message:
kernel: Assertion failed! card->ch_out.is_active,via82cxx
x_audio.c,via_dsp_poll,line=2256

This is linux-2.4.2-pre1. If i get the latest driver from CVS, I get the same message, but line number 2383. Both refer to the same line in via_dsp_poll().

The hardware used is an asus a7v133, lspci says
00:04.5 Multimedia audio controller: VIA Technologies, Inc. AC97 Audio Controller (rev 50)

Completely stopping playback and then restarting does work.

just as a note: I tried ALSA (0.5.10b), and it works well with my hardware.

This problem is fixed in the latest version of the driver. You
can download the driver from the download section on this
SourceForge web page.
