consolidated object serialization code and improved javadocs

This .project file prevents Eclipse from importing the project in a useful fashion

Finished cleaning up and javadoc'ing constants and
got rid of several deprecation warnings.

re-org and starting javadocs of constants

gives appropriate error if unsupported format is given

fixed a few cases where constant for format wasn't used/used improperly

fixed formatting issues introduced by recent changes for constants

minor cleanup

now using constants to reference all namespace uris,
format uris, and schema locations. also cleaned up
a few hardcoded rdf constants.
