ezthumb .mp4 -g 5x20 -s 33% -w 2600 -m jpg@85 -d scan my current command usually i just need to set 5x20 -> 5x40 so it's 5 columns and 40 rows and then trimmed it with imagemagick script batch, but it would takes same time as split video with ffsplit -> ezthumb but nvm, thank for ezthumb only best choice here is increased rows

  • Xuming Xuming posted a comment on discussion General Discussion

There are some ways to do so in command line mode. For example ezthumb -g 2x1 video_file gets two thumbnails side by side or ezthumb -g 1x2 video_file gets two thumbnails in column. Note the thumbnails were taken evenly in time scope so first one will be in 20min and second one in 40min for an hour video, unless overwritten by --time-from option. The -t aka --timestep can also be an option if you want your own time step.

  • John D John D posted a comment on discussion General Discussion

  • Xuming Xuming posted a comment on discussion General Discussion

Firstly, if you wish to use the command line ezthumb, you need to add the path to system environment. The path should be in c:\program files\ezthumb. Secondly, you can add the "--opt-time off" in the start menu so you can use it directly. I don't have a Windows machine by hand now so I try to describe it as accurate as possible. You should be able to click "start", then click ezthumb folder. Find the ezthumb icon, right click on it, choose property. You will find a command line like EzthumbWin.exe....

  • Xuming Xuming posted a comment on discussion General Discussion

Well, it's not in the GUI checkbox I'm afraid. You need to use command line like: ezthumb --opt-time off *.avi If you are in Linux alike system you may run the GUI with the timestamp off like: ezthumb --opt-time off -G If you are in Windows, you need to manually setup the shortcut, adding "--opt-time off" in the command line of shortcuts. Wow, I didn't expect that even though after so many years ffmpeg had been solidly proved it can do anything! I think the only value the ezthumb has might be a little bit details and you don't have to try and spell out the magic "fps=fps=1/60" now.

  • tomodue tomodue posted a comment on discussion General Discussion

Hi, thanks for your response! To my understanding, I think Ffmpeg can do that by the comand below: $ ffmpeg -i VIDEOFILE -vf fps=fps=1/60,scale=320:240,tile=4x8 OneCanvas.jpg

  • Xuming Xuming posted a comment on discussion General Discussion

Hi, ezThumb is practically libffmpeg+libgd+gui/cli. It uses libffmpeg to decode video frames and uses libgd to render these frames into one canvas. Ffmpeg doesn't do this as far as I remember.

The timestamp can be turned off or moved to various locations, but it might be nice to specify how detailed it is. As long as a video is under an hour long and probably nobody's going to need to quickly locate a specific frame, 02:38 is more quickly readable than 0:02:38,158.
