Dear Open Source developer I am doing a research project on "Fun and Software Development" in which I kindly invite you to participate. You will find the online survey under http://fasd.ethz.ch/qsf/. The questionnaire consists of 53 questions and you will need about 15 minutes to complete it. With the FASD project (Fun and Software Development) we want to define the motivational significance of fun when software developers decide to engage in Open Source projects. What is special about our research project is that a similar survey is planned with software developers in commercial firms. This procedure allows the immediate comparison between the involved individuals and the conditions of production of these two development models. Thus we hope to obtain substantial new insights to the phenomenon of Open Source Development. With many thanks for your participation, Benno Luthiger PS: The results of the survey will be published under http://www.isu.unizh.ch/fuehrung/blprojects/FASD/. We have set up the mailing list fa...@we... for this study. Please see http://fasd.ethz.ch/qsf/mailinglist_en.html for registration to this mailing list. _______________________________________________________________________ Benno Luthiger Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich 8092 Zurich Mail: benno.luthiger(at)id.ethz.ch _______________________________________________________________________ |

Oops, the email went before I finshed the PS ;-) So, I was saying, I fixed bug #25 and added a question to the registration form: http://www.arabeyes.org/t187/test/WWW/www/register.php and added the sentence 'You read about Arabeyes and you want to help ?'. We received several registrations from ppl who didn't exactly know what arabeyes was about !!! Tell me if this sentence should be modified/completed/removed or if it's ok like that ? >From: "Youcef Rabah Rahal" >Subject: Re: Todo suggestions >Date: Mon, 14 Apr 2003 10:52:10 +0200 > >Salam, > >Thank you all for your suggestions. Salam, Thank you all for your suggestions. I have updated the todo module following these recommendations. I have tried to find a compromise between what needs to be changed and the available time ;-) You can view it here: http://www.arabeyes.org/t187/test/WWW/www/ If you have some time, please look at it and tell me if there's anything that should be fixed before deployment. I think that the app is ready for deployment, just tell me what I could have forgotten ;-) By the way, you an start use it 'seriously'. I won't clean the db ! Salam, Youcef. Salam, I share Mohammed's opinion on this. The actual logo is fine, why should we spend time trying to make a newer logo while there are so many projects that need logos ? However, if you judge that there's a need to contact the author about the logo (or about something else) I am ready for it ! After our meeting last night (and yes I will do the minutes some time tomorrow), I thought of making use of the services provided by sf.net even if we don't rely on them. What I did is create the public lists on sf.net and have the mail sent to them so they are archived. That way, we have our mail archived on lists.arabeyes.org as well as sf.net servers.=20 Just an FYI -- nothing needs to be done further. --=20 ------------------------------------------------------- | Mohammed Elzubeir | Visit us at: | | | http://www.arabeyes.org/ | | Arabeyes Project | Homepage: | | Unix the 'right' way | http://fakkir.net/~elzubeir/| ------------------------------------------------------- --- Was I helpful?
