The fact that android version of an opensource software uses for network communication closed standard is perplexing to say the least. The fact that said closed standard on Windows costs almost hundred euros is even more troublesome - I could buy real midi keyboard for less, and I can't afford real midi keyboard. That's the whole point I'm trying to interface vmpk on my tablet with my computer.

Please include support for rtpMidi instead (or aside of) ipmidi as this is an open standard and is available for free.

VMPK for Desktop computers (available for Windows, Mac and Linux) has ipMIDI protocol support as well, just like VMPK for Android, and it allows network communication between VMPK for Android and VMPK for Windows directly, without installing any ipMIDI drivers on Windows. This is also true for the Mac and Linux versions as well, of course. So you only need to install VMPK at both sides, connecting both devices to the same router.

The implementation of ipMIDI used in VMPK for Windows, Mac and Linux is open source, GPL licensed, provided by my Drumstick libraries. http://sourceforge.net/p/drumstick/

And about the price/cost argument: you can't afford to pay 69 € for the ipMIDI sold by nerds.de but you don't mind to pay for a Windows license? Nerds.de offers a free (gratis) ipMIDI driver for Mac, and there are several ipMIDI compatible gateways for Linux, open source like Qmidinet (you already know: http://sourceforge.net/p/qmidinet/tickets/1/)

Anyway, my choice has been ipMIDI instead of rtpmidi for personal reasons. I'm not against of including rtpmidi in Drumstick and VMPK for Android in the future, but you should realize that this will cost some hours of programming time, and I am not willing and can't afford to do this work for free.
