In addition to time varying forces... How about adding time dependent moduli. This could be in the form of a simple power law or Prony Series for starters. This would account for linear viscoelasticity but not for nonlinear time dependent damage mechanics. Additional nonlinear time dependency can be added for this kind of time dependence.
