I have done a couple simulations of the wind flow around the Ross Island 
region in Antarctica using the University of Wisconsin-Madison 
NonHydrostatic Modeling System (UW-NMS).  Vis5d files were created from the 
output from the model.

The Byrd Polar Research Group at Ohio State University has done a fair 
amount of modeling of Antarctica using MM5, but I do not think they have 
used vis5d for model output.
