Hello,

I have some Ideas for Fun- and Story pulling Missions:

Most Missions yet in game are just what every space travel
game offers. But i would like missions that force u in one or
another direction of ur personal "Character development":
I dont like the lifeless feeling spactravel games produce, playing
them for a long time. The main reason for this is: There is no
real life on the planets at all, nothing happens do u that is not
expectet. To change this i would recommend to let things happen
to the players (either using statistical evaluations or skill point
and location dependend factors). Long talk... here are my ideas:

Example 1: U dock at an Neutral planet in some unsave System
leaving ur ship behind without guarding u get into the
spaceharbour to order repairs or to buy items. When u return to
the landing dock- oh what happend: The ship is stolen. Luckiely a
dockworker has seen someone known as (...) sneaking around ur
spaccraft and offers his help (for money surely) by selling u a
rusty old crappy ship to follow him. As soon as u say yes to the
offer u u are in space the thief as locked target before u. If u are
good u can follow him to his homeplanet otherwise u have to
make investigations as people etc to find him. On finding him
there have to be several possiblities wich let you either kill him
arrest him or get his best friend (while u are following other
missions i dont wanna specify ...) On friendship u move closer to
pirate on kill to hunters and on arrest to the lokal army
authoroties. The better ur realtions get to one side the more
suprisig people u meet driving u more and more in one direction.

Example 2: The Confed officer in the bar offers u to join the
army for some time (3 Possiblities: 2 Month, 1 jear or full (to get
higher ranks)).
1 and 2- U cant use ur own ship u have to sleep in fighter
barracks. There are new rooms aviavle on fighter barracks
where u can meet with other soldiers. U will have to fight
whenever they call u, otherwise u only can sit around and play
cards or somthing like that. But perhaps u meet someone who
dislikes this situation and likes to flee from army. U can go with
him (causes u to get serios problems u are hunted and on confed
planets it can happen that u get arrested) or tell ur sergeant of
his plans... if u survive the army u get special licenses or
something else which is not money.
3. U want to stay forever u get higher ranks with more kills, u
can be the general of a huge fleet at the end. And u can quit if ur
rank is high enough

Some Army Missions i could think of: Hold off fleeing pirates: U
are wingcomander no pirat shall get to the whormhole xy to
escape.
U are turret gunner Un have to defend a huge capship from
incomming enemies while it flys to some place or till there ar
coming backup forces(This may also be a )
Do as surprise attack to some large enemy structure or ship.
Get target traing: shoot on drones or fly through dangerous
courses.

Example4: U get to some Paper liking system and an officer
askes u if u got the right papers for either beeing allowed to fly
the ship, or security papers for some upgrades etc... Of course u
dont have them (And on every planet where there are guyes like
this they have different papers): So u can try to bribe or to flee
or to make extra training or u have to build in some strange and
very expensive Security generator which needs of course most
of ur cargo space and disables some upgrades.

Example 5: Getting back to ur ship u finde a small child hidden
inside the cockpit. It crys and so u can either kick it out or take
it with u. In the news u hear of a missing child of thome high
officer or king or whatever... So u can try to blackmail him, be
rewarded for bringing his child back or just set it free on the
next planet so u dont get trouble...

I could think of tons of missions like that which would make the
game much more interesting and fill it with life.

These are great ideas, but would require a lot of implementing.

They would be fun a fter all of the exciting scripting work was
finished and all of the joyful python errors were gone.
