Hi,

1.
I have heard that i need Apples X11 for the Setup
Programm (to configure Vegastrike) to run.
Only one thing: I have Mac OSX 10.2. Apple released X
11 1.0 which runs only under 10.3. There is also a link on
the apple page which promises to be the download-link for X
11 beta 3 which runs under 10.2 BUT: I got X11 1.0 not beta
3 using the mentioned link.

So my question is: Where can i get the beta 3 of X11, which
i can use with my System. Does anyone know? Dont say
apple because there i didnt get it.

2. After a crash of vegastrike (which is very rare in 0.41D:-
)) my complete savedata was gone: Is there any way to
restore it?

3. In the README is written that there ishould be a Plot (I
was thinking of much story or multi mission substory with
nonmoney rewards or something like that) but i played it for
a long time getting nothing but standard cargo or bounty (or
...) Missions till i had about 880000000 Credits and a big
ship: That was the point where the game got boring. For this
i had to play only 8 hrs. Is there more or was this all? (I
played several Bar Missions and they are the same style as
the Terminal Missions) If this is all i would recommend u
urgently to make a good storyline with a mainplot and
subplots otherwise the game is (at point of Gameplay)
worse than Elite1 on C64.

4. It sucks that there are nearly no shipstats (buying a new
ship) or correct weapon stats (buying weapons) displayed.
Also it sucks that there is no information about which
upgrades can be bought for a specific ship and which cant.
On some Bases i could buy more Hull upgrades for the same
ship than on others- I think i dont understand the whole
upgrade thing. Is there a relation between upgrades aviable
and the status u have in a system?

5.) What the hell is an Mult Inertial Compensator? I had
about 5 in my ship and couldnt see any improvements
(Damage Capacity or Manuvering or Reactor) Does it do
anything (do I have to turn it on)?

6.) Can u please (PLEASE) write a small fuction into ur
Game that allows to use the same navigation as in Missions
(Hyperjump) for any System i select on the map. Answer
yes or no pls.

7.) I would beg u to offer the option of a 2D System map,
cause it is simply very very much more difficult to navigate
with this crappy 3D Map.

I know this is the Help category but i wanna do some
comment (I am to lazy to post it elsewhere):

vegastrike could be a very good game. But if u dont want to
do what 20 other Game Makers did before, u should make it
more complex and dont just improve the graphics. Perhaps u
could make on planet missions and other subgames. It
would also be nice if the bars get more interesting (More
people to talk, more secrets more information) .

But very important: Its good to be free in doing what u like
in a game but after a while it gets veeerrry boring. The art
of makeing good adventure (space adventure games) is (i
played many and developed some in my life) is to have a
good storyline and a fluid gameplay. And this means the plot
has to come to the player not the other way round. And at a
certain point (time) the freedom of the player has to be
limited. And most important: there must be a beginning AND
an END of the game. Of course noone has ever made a
really good space-traveling game, because its getting very
complex if u have much freedom at the beginning and if u
can decide freely on which side (pirates, confed...) u play
(There should be possibilities to change sides and get into an
advanced point of the other parties plot etc...), but i think
the storyline must fit to the good graphics and also has to be
an advanced one. (Tetris 3d is not a better game than tetris)
