Pros: Easy to use app, constant improvements and updates, Im fan of script library, webinars are also great.

Cons: Would be great to have customizable dashboard, also GPO editor.

Overall: Overall I have much more time to do much more important work in my company than just maintaining all PC's. Atera made it an easy job.

    "Consider Atera"

    Posted 2020-09-28

Pros: I think Atera is a very good product, easy to use and economical unlike other competing products used previously. However, I believe there are aspects of the functionality to be increased.

Cons: In my opinion, the discovery network part should be increased by extending it to work groups and not only to domains. I would also like SNMP management to be implemented with support for mib files.

Overall: I hold our experience of use positive. We are a company that offers technical assistance and software services to Italian pharmacies. And with the management of Atera we are able to follow the customer fleet.

    "Excellent Product"

    Posted 2020-09-25

Pros: Automated updates for workstations is simple. Help's to keep all the computers updated with the appropriate patches. You can run audit reports on the software installed, code versions on systems, updates done, and more. There are SNMP features to monitor network devices to help reduce the overall systems in use. Many other features like work from home options for clients, online backups, webroot, free Splashtop integration (saves the thousands you would spend on Team Viewer)

Cons: I was not a fan of the Acronis features. I felt the setup of it was unusually complicated from what I was expecting. I wanted a more simplified setup that I could manage all within Atera and not have to go to Acronis's site for additional work.

Overall: I love this tool. I am able to manage all my client sites with it. I can use the Splashtop with limitless connections. That saves me thousands on things like Team Viewer. I can push all my updates automatically, There are features for online or even local backup options that can be done. The online options are cheap and have versioning changes which is a huge benefit. This is a definite tool if you're looking.

"Perfect for MSPs and Small Business's"

    Posted 2020-09-24

Pros: The price is fantastic! Cannot beat it especially with unlimited endpoints!
    Ease of Use
    Setup time is minimal.
Splashtop remote access from the beginning.
    Catalog of Scripts.
Really Fantastic Support that are responsive.

Cons: The catalog of scripts is not very supported.
The UI could use some updating to make devices easier. But this has been updated a lot since using it.

Overall: I love this software. The company I started working for had nothing in place for patch management or remote management. This took care of it all. I do love the pricing and the ease of setup. Being able to add things of value for cheaper than most is nice. No big sales meetings or setup meetings to get started. The 30 Day demo was fantastic and allowed us to learn about it and see how it works. If you are an MSP it takes care of everything. It is slightly more geared towards MSP's but if you are one, this is almost everything besides a tax ID and bank account you need! I would recommend this to anyone and everyone.

"Feature rich RMM with a light PSA all for an unbeatable price"

    Posted 2020-09-24

    Pros: Remote access via Splashtop
    Scripting Library
    Chocolatey installer built-in
    Price
    Monthly updates
    Patch management
    Robust Reporting Tools
Detailed list of hardware and software for each agent
    Uptime has been great
    Forced MFA logins
    Password manager (limited but works)

Cons: Limited Control over patch management (can't set specific times)
Network scanning tool is not reliable and cost extra
PSA is limited but features added often
No easy deployment tool (powershell or cmd)
Need more control over user/group permissions

Overall: Atera will work with 85% of IT departments. They offer most all features you will need to support you customers and at a price no other vendor can touch. The Layout is friendly to use and easy to find what you are looking for via the top search bar. The monthly feature releases and are not just bug fixes but actual feature changes. Integrations with Acronis backups, Webroot, and Bitdefender help make your profit margins even better while making complex support easier. Agent installs are unlimited and can be done via .exe, web link or using powershell for a large amount of installs. The Reporting section offers many options, scheduling and manual runs.

If you need a RMM tool at a great price that has some PSA features (or not) the do not pass on Atera.

"A necessity in the modern world"

    Posted 2020-09-24

Pros: You're enabled as a Network Engineer to manage servers across the globe from the comfort of your home. This is what the world needs in todays economic climate with everyone working from home. The layout of all the customers and devices is truly streamlined.

Cons: Simple layout, complex features. The only thing I could possibly complain about is moving from a web based app to a locally hosted application.

Overall: This tool has only proven useful whenever we want to monitor our mission critical server's status. The alerts feature on the dashboard gives you a birds eye view of your entire infrastructure putting you in the drivers seat when you want to manage your machines. The side pane and layout only provide the most user friendly experience when it comes to new users. This allows for server management to become greatly simplified, especially with remote management integration like Splashtop and LogMeIn.

"Best RMM tool for the money"

    Posted 2020-09-23

Pros: 1. I love the fact that it has most of the tools and components that all of the more expensive RMM providers offer.
    2. Very easy to create new clients and deploy monitoring and management policies.
    3. Includes Splashtop Remote for remote access to client systems.
    4. Supports Apple iMac and MacBook/Pro systems.
    5. New Mobile app.
    6. I love that they are now offering Webroot AV support as an option within the platform.
    7. I like the ability to identify other items that are on the network via the network scanning tool.

Cons: 1. No mobile device support.
    2. No way to remote into covered clients via Splashtop Remote on mobile devices.
    3. No NOC & Help Desk support like other RMM providers offer.

Overall: I love this tool! I am trying to get things setup so that we can setup to offer to our clients, and to other Atera users NOC & Help Desk support for their clients. The fact that we can do 80% of what the other RMM providers offer for 10-25% of the cost is incredible!

"Atera is the best MSP platform I've worked with"

    Posted 2020-09-23

Pros: In my 30 years in the IT industry, Atera has been the best MSP platform I have worked with. From ease of use, functionality, features, price point, and cost structure there is little to no comparison.

Cons: I honestly can't think of a single complaint about it.

Overall: I've had a great working relationship with Atera over the last five years. I can only think of two times when I have had to contact them for support of their product, and both times my issue was taken care of quickly and with thoroughly.

    "Best and simple RMM"

    Edited 2020-07-28

Pros: It's a very simple remote monitoring and management tool. Atera makes it very easy to access and gives outbound support. It's a cost-effective platform with powerful effectiveness.

Cons: Honestly, so far there isn't anything I don't like.

Overall: It's the simplest and most powerful RMM solution. With Atera now we can easily perform remote monitoring and management form our locally installed administrative accounts. Overall it's the best RMM for marketing strategies.

"Great option for small MSP looking for a simple, affordable solution"

    Posted 2020-01-04

Pros: Simplicity. It felt a bit barebones at first coming from Labtech, but it refocused us on the important things and not get scatter brained. We took on the attitude of "if Altaro doesn't have it, you don't need it". It's been two years and we honestly haven't looked back.

It's also great having a flat fee per tech instead of per agent fee. It's a relief when deploying agents since It doesn't feel like I'm incurring additional overhead each time I add an agent.

I also appreciate their agile feature releases. It gives me the feeling that the team is not sitting still and always earning my dollar.

Cons: The reporting is a bit weak. I'm used to being able to hook into the database and generate custom reports coming from Connectwise. I used to have a Excel pivot table pulling data directly from Connectwise and it was data nerd heaven.

While API is available, it doesn't supply the same volume of information that the built-in reports offer. I submitted a feature request to simply expose the reports via API (this is how Connectwise does it) so hopefully that will happen in the future.

Also, Splashtop remote control that comes with Atera is just too slow to connect. It's actually pretty good once the connection is established, but there's a ~30 sec delay from the time you click on the button. That might not sound like much, it can feel like eternity when there is a customer on the phone. Plus it takes too long to find out when the connection doesn't work for some reason. We bit the bullet and paid for Screenconnect.

Overall: We're a small MSP with 3 techs. Labtech/Connectwise is WAY overkill. We miss a few features but honestly it hasn't been enough of a hindrance to regret our decision. Cost savings is worth whatever bells and whistles we lost.

Can it be better? Sure. But that's why it's great knowing the dev team is constantly releasing new features and improvements.

"Price isn’t everything or even the most important thing, but..."

    Posted 2019-12-25

Pros: We ditched a system that was costing us more, but price isn’t everything or even the most important thing… We are now doing more with our RMM than ever before. -It’s easier to use, does everything we need and the support is fantastic!

Cons: If you run it up on your mobile device, the UI is a little more limited, for example I could not find a way to run scripts. To work around this, navigate to the device you want and tell your browser to switch from mobile to desktop version of the site. They are also releasing a native mobile app soon, perhaps it will include ability to run scripts on mobile in a more streamlined manner.

Overall: It helps us be proactive, so we can solve OS and equipment issues before the end user is even aware anything is going on. Glad we switch to this, only wish we would have found it sooner!

    "Great RMM Solution"

    Posted 2019-12-24

Pros: Per-user pricing, clean and modern GUI, integration with solutions I already use (Webroot, Splashtop, Teamviewer), patch management, white label.

Cons: Some tasks can be unintuitive, like adding computers to customers' folders.

Overall: Great solution. I love the per-user pricing, its clean and modern GUI, and the integration with solutions I already use (Webroot, Splashtop, Teamviewer), patch management, white label.

Pros: Atera's Pricing model that includes most services and unlimited nodes for one price. The support is also excellent

Cons: Nothing to Dislike but Lack of Linux agent is killing us.

    "Highly Recommend Atera"

    Posted 2019-12-17

Pros: Atera is very much interested in what their customers think and request for suggestions or improvements. Atera is affordable because they charge per technician instead of per end point. The Atera interface is fast and not bogged down with so many features that it makes it confusing and time consuming. I really like that the main features of support tickets, Alerts, and Reports are easy to get to and analyze. The support ticket system is quick and easy to use as a technician and it's great that customers just have to send a simple email to create a support ticket. Atera Reports are great to create and send to customers to show what is happening behind the scenes. Remote connection to customers' computers is another feature that works very well. Connecting remotely to my customers' computers is quick and easy. No messing around with codes or having customers download and install extra special software.

Cons: Not much to dislike about Atera. I would like to see the Alerts to be improved upon by making them not alert me every time a computer has a small spike in CPU and/or memory usage as well as temperatures. I would also like to see the Atera website more compatible with the new Microsoft Edge browser that is being released in January of 2020. Currently the support tickets' information details appear as narrow paragraphs. Currently there is no mobile app to get notifications of new support tickets and to access and edit current support tickets.

Overall: Customers are happy that I can quickly and easily remotely connect to their computers and resolve issues. Generating reports for customers is very valuable as it shows what my customers are getting for the price they pay for my services. Having customers simply send an email for support tickets has greatly reduced call volume and made things less stressful.

    "Atera Anywhere"

    Posted 2019-12-17

Pros: I love the fact that Atera is accessible anywhere. Computer, Laptop, Phone or Tablet. Anywhere that I am, I have full access to my workstations. At anytime a customer can call with help and I am able to connect on the spot to their computer to help. Also the Auditing system, which allows you to filter computers and categorize hardware and software is an amazing feature. I cannot stress the importance of this tool and its capabilities for someone that has so many computers to manage.

Cons: I feel like Agent can sometimes show a computer offline when its not. Sometimes the Agent can even show offline and immediately come online. Also a more portable version of the agent would be nice. Once upon a time i could carry my agent installer in a USB and from there i could install the end for any computer and choose what company folder it belong to.

Overall: Atera helps me filter customer computers very easily. Make my job to recommend new computers, new components, and Windows upgrades a lot easier. For the most part, Atera is s a daily tool that i use at my office. its great, easy to use, quick to access, and loaded with many more tools.
