Active Admin is a Ruby on Rails plugin for generating administration style interfaces. It abstracts common business application patterns to make it simple for developers to implement beautiful and elegant interfaces with very little effort. Customizable global navigation allows you to create usable admin interfaces for your business. Use the bundled Devise configuration or implement your own authorization using the provided hooks. Use scopes to create sections of mutually exclusive resources for quick navigation and reporting. Add buttons, links or other content in the “Action Items” section on each screen. Index screens are available in many styles. The default, shown here, is a table view, but Active Admin also supports Grids, Blocks and a Blog view. The Amazon DynamoDB Session Store handles sessions for Ruby web applications using a DynamoDB backend. The session store is compatible with all Rack-based frameworks. For Rails applications, use the aws-sdk-rails gem. The session store is a Rack Middleware, meaning that it will implement the Rack interface for dealing with HTTP request/responses. This session store uses a DynamoDB backend in order to provide scaling and centralized data benefits for session storage with more ease than other containers, like local servers or cookies. Once an application scales beyond a single web server, session data will need to be shared across the servers. DynamoDB takes care of this burden for you by scaling with your application. Cookie storage places all session data on the client side, discouraging sensitive data storage. It also forces strict data size limitations. DynamoDB takes care of these concerns by allowing for a safe and scalable storage container with a much larger data size limit. -

Errbit is a tool for collecting and managing errors from other applications. It is Airbrake API compliant, so if you are already using Airbrake, you can just point the airbrake gem to your Errbit server. The way Errbit arranges notices into error groups is configurable. By default, Errbit uses the notice's error class, error message, complete backtrace, component (or controller), action and environment name to generate a unique fingerprint for every notice. Notices with identical fingerprints appear in the UI as different occurences of the same error and notices with differing fingerprints are displayed as separate errors. Following the recommendation of 12factor.net, Errbit takes all of its configuration from environment variables. You can use dotenv, which is included in the Gemfile, to fill in any values that you can't or won't supply through the environment. -

A Ruby gem to load environment variables from `.env`
Shim to load environment variables from .env into ENV in development. Storing configuration in the environment is one of the tenets of a twelve-factor app. Anything that is likely to change between deployment environments–such as resource handles for databases or credentials for external services–should be extracted from the code into environment variables. But it is not always practical to set environment variables on development machines or continuous integration servers where multiple projects are run. dotenv loads variables from a .env file into ENV when the environment is bootstrapped. dotenv is initialized in your Rails app during the before_configuration callback, which is fired when the Application constant is defined in config/application.rb with class Application < Rails::Application. If you need it to be initialized sooner, you can manually call Dotenv::Railtie.load. -
