Flint is an ActionScript 3 particle engine designed for creating rich particle effects in Flash and Flex applications, providing tools for animations like fire, smoke, and explosions. This first tutorial will introduce the basics of Flint through a project to create a snow effect. Our effect will be snow flakes drifting down the screen. Each snow flake will be a particle in our particle system. If you want to see the final effect, scroll to the bottom of the page. This tutorial works with version 4.0.0 of the Flint library. This example creates a 2D particle effect. For 3D particle effects the principles are the same but you use a 3D emitter and 3D behaviours. First create a new Flash file (Actionscript 3). Set the stage size to 500 pixels wide and 400 pixels high, set the frame rate to 30 fps and set the background color to black.

Grapefrukt-export is a suite of ActionScript tools aimed at exporting animations and graphical assets created in Flash authoring environment to other more usable formats. It lets authors extract sprites, movie clips, fonts etc., generating sheets, transparent images, animation keyframes data etc., so assets can be used outside of Flash, in different pipelines. Little Man Computer models the von Neumann architecture, which has the basic features of a computer. Just enter your instructions/data inside the boxes. Remember that commands are three digit numbers with the first number being the instruction and the next two digits being the memory address box. LMCv1_by_alexiskappa has the general instructions displayed. Just write your commands/data inside the boxes 00-99 [MEMORY] and then click on the "RUN" button. "RESET" clears the contents of the boxes. LMCv2_by_alexiskappa has a simple animation, showing the order of each step.
