Batch Audio Convert
Command-line mass conversion of any directory tree of audio files.
BAC is a command-line tool that converts, to a target audio file format, all the audio files stored in a directory tree of any depth. Supported file formats are OGG, FLAC, MP3, AAC, ALAC, WAV, in all ways, and WMA as source. Main audio tags are preserved in the process, as well as most file name characters (white spaces, question marks etc). BAC runs on Linux and probably most UNIX-type OSes. On Windows, it must be operated from the Cygwin environment. It requires the following software to be installed: - flac and metaflac (flac files only) - vorbis-tools (ogg files only) - faac and faad (aac files only) - lame and madplay (mp3 files only) - alac-decoder and mpeg4ip-utils (ALAC decode) - ffmpeg (ALAC encode, wma decode) - mplayer (wma decode) - mp4v2-utils (AAC, ALAC, WAV decode) BAC is now optimized for multiprocessing on multicore systems: a tunable number of cores can be used for simultaneous conversions. -

Initial system (box) generator for biological molecular simulations
"Bio.B-Gen" is a command line tool to generate initial systems for biological molecular simulations. "Bio.B-Gen" was mainly designed to be used with the GROMACS molecular dynamics simulation package (http://www.gromacs.org). "Bio.B-Gen" depends on the GROMACS topology and force field information (.top and .itp data files) during the generation stage. "Bio.B-Gen" adds specified number of copies of a molecule to an existing configuration to a specified spacial domain inside the system, such as a sphere, cube, spherical shell, layer, etc. Then, optionally, "Bio.B-Gen" resolves overlaps between molecules in the system and saves the new molecular configuration. By running "Bio.B-Gen" multiple times for different molecular species and spacial domains quite complex initial systems can be generated. After the system is generated and all the overlaps are resolved an short GROMACS simulation run (10-20 ps) is usually required to ensure proper relaxation of the system. -

Sexy fonts for the console
This is a silly little command line tool for sexy ANSI fonts in the console. Give your cli some love. cfonts detects what colors are supported on your platform. It sets a level of support automatically. In cfonts you can override this by passing in the FORCE_COLOR environment variable. All settings are optional and shown here with their default. You can use cfonts in your project without the direct output to the console. The package comes with a bunch of unit tests that aim to cover 100% of the code base. It was created for performance engineers to be able to have a easy way to compare data from two testruns and be able to automate the comparing process of various files with scripts. There is a command line tool as well as a user interface. In case you need to compare .xml-Files you can convert them to .csv-Files with my other project CSV Transformer. The advantages by using CSV as input and output are the following: - Many applications allow an export of its data to CSV or Excel(were it could be saved to CSV) - It is possible to pre- and postprocess the data, e.g removing version numbers before comparing - It is easy to create CSV data from logfiles and other resources by using unix tools like sed or awk - CSV can be loaded into other applications, especially Excel, were it can be formatted by macros for analyzing.
