A new AWS IoT Device SDK is now available. It is a complete rework, built to improve reliability, performance, and security. We invite your feedback! The aws-iot-device-sdk.js package allows developers to write JavaScript applications that access the AWS IoT Platform via MQTT or MQTT over the Secure WebSocket Protocol. It can be used in Node.js environments as well as in-browser applications. This package is built on top of mqtt.js and provides three classes: 'device', 'thingShadow' and 'jobs'. The 'device' class wraps mqtt.js to provide a secure connection to the AWS IoT platform and expose the mqtt.js interfaces upward. It provides features to simplify the handling of intermittent connections, including progressive backoff retries, automatic re-subscription upon connection and queued offline publishing with a configurable drain rate. Beginning with Release v2.2.0 of the SDK, AWS collects usage metrics indicating which language and version of the SDK is being used. -

Create a directory for your bot, and change to that directory in your command line. If you want to be more updated (at the expense of stability), you can install the beta builds instead. Eris supports a few optional libraries that could potentially improve bot performance but may require additional dependencies. If you want Eris to use any of these packages, install them in the same directory as Eris, and Eris will automatically use them. You can find more examples on the GitHub repo. A fully customizable progress bar is included in UI mode. Core users can build their own with the help of a friendly API. Drag and drop files (and even folders in Chrome and Opera) straight from your desktop. Sometimes the network misbehaves. Fortunately, Fine Uploader can detect these sorts of disturbances and notify the user, or even automatically retry uploading the failed piece. Pause an in-progress upload when you know you are about to go offline, and safely resume them again right where you left off. Splitting a file into smaller pieces allows for a more efficient overall upload, and powers some Fine Uploader features such as pausing, and resuming uploads. Fine Uploader can also upload multiple chunks for the same file concurrently. -

Also, I don't want this to be a feature-bloated monster, but a slick and small app. Depending on the number of contributors and the progress of this app, I will schedule releases from time to time, which will then be distributed on goofyapp.com. To debug, there's a VSCode launch.json that can be used to debug the Electron app. To debug the Facebook JavaScript changes you'll need to use the Chrome Web Inspector. -

Nylas Mail is an open-source mail client built on the modern web with Electron, React, and Flux. It was designed to be easy to extend, and many third-party plugins are available that add functionality to the client. See /packages for the separate pieces. Each folder in /packages is designed to be its own stand-alone repository. They are all bundled here for the ease of source control management. In early 2016, the Nylas Mail team wrote extensive documentation for the app that was intended for plugin developers. This documentation lives on GitHub Pages and offers a great overview of the app's architecture and important classes. When you download and build Nylas Mail from the source it runs without its cloud components. The concept of a "Nylas ID" / subscription has been removed, and plugins that require server-side processing are disabled by default. (Plugins like Snooze, Send Later, etc.) -

JavaScript API for building file uploaders
At its core Plupload is visually flat and you can customize it however you like. We are using HTML5 APIs. Always. Plupload is based on multi-runtime pollyfills for XMLHttpRequest L2, File and Image APIs. So when there's no HTML5 available in the browser, we emulate it ourselves. Files not only can be picked from browse dialog, but also can be dropped directly from the desktop. In some browsers, mostly in those based on WebKit, it is possible to drag and drop whole folders. Since we emulate as much of HTML5 as possible, we are able (among other things) to provide access to raw file data, even in such environments that do not normally support it. One of the biggest benefits of this is that we can display the thumbnails instantly, right as you select the images in the dialog or drag&drop them from the desktop. We slice the files in chunks and send them out one by one. You can then safely collect them on the server and combine into original file. -
