    Eagle Mode

    Eagle Mode

Zoomable user interface (ZUI) with file manager, file viewers and more

Eagle Mode is a zoomable user interface (ZUI) with file manager, file viewers, games, and more. This project is about a futuristic style of human-computer interaction, where the user can visit almost everything simply by zooming in. It features a portable C++ toolkit API for developing such ZUIs, and it features the Eagle Mode application, which provides a virtual cosmos with plugin applications. The most important one is the professional file manager with its rich, scriptable command set. It integrates file viewers for most of the common file types, as well as an audio and video player. Furthermore, the virtual cosmos contains a chess game, a netwalk game, a 3D minesweeper game, a multi-function clock, a stock watchlist, some fractals, and a Linux kernel configurator in form of a kernel patch.

    Fox Oring

    Fox Oring

Fox Oring is a variation of the radio orienteering.

Fox Oring is a variation of the sport of amateur radio direction finding. Fox Oring is a timed race in which individual competitors use a topographic map and a magnetic compass to navigate through diverse, wooded terrain while searching for radio transmitters. The term is derived from the use of the term fox hunting to describe recreational radio direction finding activity and an abbreviation of the word orienteering. It is necessary to discover 5 hidden transmitters located on a 10 × 10 field in as few moves as possible. The transmitters broadcast in all 8 directions, the number on the cell indicates the number of intersecting signals.

    mpchess

simple chess game written in C

Sour*eforge.net has become inaccesible to me because of Cl*udflare. The latest versions of the programs will be on my site: https://matei.one/. Simple chess game for people who want to play chess but don't want to take it seriously. Written in C, using SDL 1.2 or SDL 2 for graphics. Interface inspired from old chess game for ZX Spectrum. The computer searches (L+2)/2 moves ahead (assuming that a move means that both sides move a piece), where L is the difficulty level. Positions are evaluated only by adding the values of the pieces left on the board. Any factors related to where the pieces are, such as mobility, doubled pawns, isolated pawns etc. are not considered. To add variety to the game, possible moves are randomly shuffled before every search.
