Its on one hand inspired by the program ProVoc (http://www.arizona-software.ch/provoc/) which the author used for learning but which is unfortunately retired. Sketch a Frame is an app where you can quickly draw a geometry and add forces and boundary conditions to visualize deflections, normal forces, moment distribution and normal tension. The app uses the finite element method (FEM) for the calculations. The elements are modeled as beam elements. This is a master thesis work by Daniel Åkesson for the department of structural mechanics at Lunds institute of technology. -
