East St. Louis
ARMOUR found his solace in rap music on the playground in his hometown East Saint Louis, IL. By 11 his lifestyle consisted of drug dealing, gambling, and drinking alcohol. He thought he found his way out when local producer Brian “Killer B” Johnson discovered his talent and invited him to record his first song in a basement studio. While this opened up the opportunity to perform in front of hundreds of people, the limited structure and direction gained him no real notoriety. When he thought things could not get any worse his aunt Lynnette D. Gaines also known as Bay-Bay died. This was a turning point in his life and music. He then understood that life was a vapor and the music he created gave life more value. Thus, he stopped just writing lyrics and began transposing his soul onto the page so that every listener would be left with a piece of him. From recording music in the basement studios in his hometown to his own self made studio in his apartment while in college at Tennessee State University T. ARMOUR lives music. His words and music are not just his life: It’s his legacy.
