Butter Party
Michael Davies
Melbourne
Butter Party is the brain child of Michael Davies, a Melbourne-based tech-funk DJ/producer and co-owner of the digital label Trickery Collective. Coming from an engineering background, Michael spent 2007 learning the ways of the music production ninja. His talent was quickly spotted by tech-funk don Elite Force, who was so smitten with the maturity of sound and the adroitness of the youngster's production work that he instantly snapped up tracks "Wriggle" and "Fidget" for U&A Recordings. The release went on to receive 5 stars in IDJ Magazine, and gained massive support from DJs including James Zabiela, Mark Knight, The Crystal Method, Meat Katie, Miles Dyson, and many more. The success of this release put Butter Party's sound - a mix of bouncy percussion and gritty bass leads - in heavy demand. Not one to disappoint, he's delivered a handful of remixes forthcoming on U&A, Erase, Fresh Produce and Future Perfect. New material is also in the pipeline for late 2008 with original EPs due on U&A, Bombtraxx, and Superbleep. On top of all this, he's somehow found time to get his new digital label Trickery Collective underway, as well as DJ regularly. Buttery roads ahead! For bookings/remix work contact via MySpace.

I am so so soooooo late to the party on this one, but this has to be one of the best tracks Chi has put out IMHO. The lyrics are absolutely dripping in raw powerful emotion, and the chord progressions and bassline magnify the whole experience 1000x. Gorgeous gorgeous gorgeous, can't stop playing it.
