Black Jewelz began writing at about 11-12 years of age, his love for hip-hop became one of the central aspects of his life as a teenager. His message changed when he was almost 18 years old and his mission began. He soon began performing on stages, at open mics, on street blocks, at the Apollo Theatre, and wherever he could get an opportunity to be heard.
