Originals and other songs I like. Mostly lo-fi one-takes.

Recorded this on May 3rd, 2009 at 10:58 p.m., on a 12 string that I rarely play anymore. I was missing an SD card for years.. & I thought it was left at a restaurant. Or, that I lost it in my vehicle- in the console 4WD shifter or under the seat. A week ago, I was preparing to get it ready to sell, & knew I had to search it for this very card. Some places I could not reach or see, so i did not know for sure if it was there, or left at this restaurant. This little tiny piece of plastic, gone missing, tormented me for years now. Where is it? Did I leave it on the table? It had original songs on it, I am sure- b/c I remember them, but can't find them anywhere else. Well, today... I am going through a plastic bin of papers & receipts... & it was just floating somewhere in there. I could have inadvertently tossed it today, actually. I am looking for something, & also throwing old papers away. But it was there. So satisfying- or it would have bothered me the rest of my life.

Baby Birds Don't Drink Milk. That's the band this sound reminds me of. I think you will love them. I hope you do. I can't remember the song, but when I just found them again- "Burt" captures exactly what I am talking about.

I don't like putting artists into categories- but it can be useful for communication, like a language. This reminds me of .... damnit. I spent 5 minutes trying to find this band to tell you about. You will appreciate them, if not love their sound. It's very abstract, like you are hearing words, but can't make them out, & hearing chords changes, but it's blurry. Anyway, this track's sound reminded me of them, & I haven't thought of them or listened to them in a few years.

Altogether lovely... engaging, smooth... relaxing blend of sounds. Well done! Inspires me to make this kind of effort & time spent, instead of one-off recordings.

This version of this song, is now forever PART of this song.

Where are you these days? You lose your passion? You haven't lost your audience. I dig you.

Waveboy effects or on board? Just acquired an EPS 16 plus in June. Bought it over a year earlier but could only pick up, seller wouldn’t ship.

@linaintherain: Might be a bathroom with tile floors, a mirror, an elastic shower curtain or just a tub. One small window reflecting as well. Great sound, wherever it is being recorded.

@linaintherain: One more thing regarding your vocal recording, if you feel unsure about how good it is: I just listened to this track again, & it puts me in a medium size room, with hardwood floors & sparsely furnished, an apartment... & I can't tell if the guitar was recorded separately- but the reflections are perfect, to my ear- with the slightest reverb that people strive for with plugins or special studio time, etc. You've got a great sound for your voice & guitar with that room. In my opinion, of course. I would be obnoxiously truthful if I thought otherwise. Really. Glad to hear your latest tunes.

@linaintherain: The upshot is... don't have any feeling of missing out for not upgrading yet. Yeah, I like to have the latest if I can; however, for what I do, I don't think I gained anything. In fact, I wouldn't be harmed if I was still using Live 8. A lot of Live upgrades seem to be more important if you're using certain MIDI interfaces. Anyway, your vocals are fantastic, & if dampening your room helps, you can do it with blankets & things. But I think your vocals sound great as is.
