The Weird Outsiders is an instrumental/ambient/post-rock band that explores sounds and music-making processes. The Weird Outsiders self-title first long-duration album is an exquisite atmospheric journey; a dream that drives the listener from reality and back with environmental soundscapes (almost disorienting) along with highly distorted guitars. The Awaking of the Outsider an 18 min song, perfectly exemplifies the band ethos and sound; an exploration of the potential of three chords. Thinking inside and outside the box. The Weird Outsiders emerged in Edinburgh in 2019 when the life of Pablo Jimenez-Moreno, Waseem Albahri and Ben Murphy coincided. The multi contextual, multilingual, multi-continental and multicultural combination resulted in their unique sound that wanders between different music genders including post-modern jazz. The Weird Outsiders do not have an exclusive line-up. They are open to collaboration, in its music as in its visual material. This album includes collaborations with experimental musician Ricardo Nogueira (∩) from Porto, punk-drummer Alberto Merleti from Novara and vocals from Andrew Bennet (The Minster) from Glasgow.
