80 Grit

80 grit are a 3 piece band from New Plymouth, New Zealand. The band formed in late 2014 and quickly had enough original material together to play shows around New Plymouth. In an effort to capture the party, 80 Grit recorded 6 songs in mid-2015 and made a video to their song "dirt". 4 of these songs would ultimately end up on their debut self-titled EP. In late 2015 the band made a video for their single "Capo". Using a portacom, an iPhone and several costume changes the video for Capo captured the raw energy and DIY ethos of the band. The video quickly racked up hundreds of views on YouTube. A few more shows, and another recording session resulted in a follow up EP in early 2016. Happy to pile into a van and hit the road, 80 Grit started playing shows around the North Island in 2016 in support of their 2015 self-titled EP and the 2016 follow up EP "Say Goodbye". 80 Grit continue to write record and gig and are working on material for a full length release in early 2017. 80 Grit are: Craig Hanscombe – Drums/Vocals Dave Goodwin - Bass Marc Gernhoefer – Guitar/Vocals Contact: Marc – 0277812121 80gritrocknroll@gmail.com
