Hi! My name is Mykola Voytiv. I'm from Kyiv, Ukraine. I started to play music when I was 7 years old when I went to a musical school to study piano. My parents told me that when I was a child, I loved to fall asleep to the sounds of Pink Floyd, Queen, Didier Marouani, other bands and singers and classical music. As I was finishing music school, I started to compose on the piano. At the age of 15, I have started to play the guitar. My father was my teacher writing chords on a piece of paper for me to learn. He is a good musician who plays violin, piano, guitar and sings with his folk band “Karpatia”. I have started playing a classical guitar with nylon strings but I felt that the sound wasn’t what I wanted so I put metal strings on the guitar. My fingers hurt and bleed, but the Lord inspired and forced me to move on. When I mastered the basics, I started to play the guitar and sing at a local Catholic Church (1998-2006). I also took part in contests for Christian singing. Then I got an electric guitar as a birthday gift from my parents. This enabled me to improve my guitar playing technic. Soon after, I bought 12-string guitar because nothing can replace its richness of sound. In 2001, I wrote an arrangement of Ave Maria (Bach/Gounod) for me to play on the guitar while my friend played the violin. We performed my arrangement of Ave Maria at some local churches and concerts. I have also made arrangements for a lot of Christian songs. When I was a student (2001-2005), I was a guitarist in the rock band “Casus”. We performed at different student events and local contests. I also loved to create various duets and collaborations. I sang in different choirs as a baritone. With my Academy choir (2001-2006), I took part in an international tour. I am a founder of NGO “New Generation Management”. With my friends as volunteers, we created a lot of social and charity projects for children from orphanages and vulnerable families. Since 2015, I have been a volunteer for the International Christian radio broadcast, “Radio Maria”. With this program, I am a co-author and co-presenter of the “Power of Spirit” program. In the summer of 2017, I recorded my guitar compositions in a music studio for the first time. Since then, I have continued to work on new recording projects.
