This is my attempt to port the unfinished game "The Magical Realms of Tír na nÓg: Escape from Necron 7 - Revenge of Cuchulainn: The Official Game of the Movie - Chapter 2 of the Hoopz Barkley SaGa" aka "Barkley 2" from GML 1.4.9999 to Godot game engine.

Its very easy to say "I'm going to port Barkley 2 to Godot", but actually doing it is a monumental process. On Stage 0, I learned how parts of the game worked, how the original devs made certain things work and how can I port them to Godot. This helped, but its only a start. Certain scripts became autoloads, certain scripts became nodes and others were mashed together inside a simpler script.

------------

To be honest, its was amazing to see what could be done with such a limited game engine like GMS 1.4. Thousands of scripts, tens of thousands sprites and sfx, for the project ending up scrapped. That's very sad.

-------------

The port is in full swing. We started porting the actual gameplay.
Now, the nightmare begins.

-------------

I've grown used to the nightmare by this time. I´ve added a new combat system, a mix of turn-based and active combat. It was a real challenge mixing existing features with new ones, trying to recycle as much as possible from the old game.
Its very buggy, but it gives a nice proof of concept on how I'm envisioning the combat system. Is it good? Is it bad? Don't know, we will know that as time goes on.
