Polar bear (Ursus maritimus) up near Churchill, Manitoba, by Don Johnston. I grumble about the ridiculous amount of rain we get in southern BC (about 70 mm past 24 hours, near Vancouver). But in Churchill 2 days ago, with windchill, the high was -47 C and low was -52 C!! That's -53 F and -63 F. Record breaking cold spell and not normally do bad. Still, how anything can survive such cold is beyond me.
