Chalcidian-Corinthian helmet. Olympia, Greece, Archaeological Museum. Inv. no. B 7946. Found from fountain 2 in the Nordwand Stadium, Quadr. D 2, February 1959. 6th-5th century BCE. Fragmented. In the discovery almost complete, but compressed; the bronze was often so completely decomposed that it could not be preserved; the resulting gaps are now filled with wax; the sharp ridge of the dome portion is no longer recognizable. The eyebrows and rim of the helmet are made of silver.
