This app is the only English map that works in China on Android. Unfortunately it requires a Chinese phone number to use and loses many functions in English. Binding Wechat, Alipay, and Taobao can't bypass this login requirement. It's reasonably straightforward to get a SIM card linked to your visa before you even arrive, but not worth the hassle for shorter trips. I wish it just kept the same interface and search settings as the Chinese versions and didn't require a local phone number to login.

It's one of the major Navigation and map app in China. It does have offline map function. However, I guess if you download it from Play store, you're not going to be able to use it in China when you are actually offline or out of signal, which is hilarious. Also, the main page of this app is like a rocket launch control room control panel. I bet it does have 10,000 plus function, but none of it is going to help you navigate to any of the destination you want to go.

Useful map, and good that they finally added English but language support is still lacking in general. Most annoying is that it insists on me adding my phone number to use anything beyond the most basic functions. Why do you even need this? It's a bit creepy! Not only that but the list of countries that it will accept phone numbers from is super limited and it won't allow mine. Could be a good app if you didn't insist on collecting people's private data and just make a map.
