Foreverred
Foreverred is a mod of Celeste Classic that took a year to develop. Starting as a update to my first mod, Everred, it grew into a full re-imagining of the levels, and eventually into the biggest Celeste Classic mod ever released.
The mod is over three times the size of the original game, and features brand new levels, mechanics, sprites, and music - huge thank you to my friends Augie745 and RubyRed for their wonderful original tracks!
Controls:
- Z - Jump
- X - Dash
- Arrow Keys - Move
- E - Toggle Flashing Effects
Lots of credit to Maddy and Noel from EXOK Games for the original game, and to the Celeste Classic Discord for all the help and feedback. Extra special thank you to my developer friends Gonen and Meep, who helped optimize, compress, and fit everything into one PICO-8 cartridge. This project wouldn't have been possible without them.

I DID IT LETS GOOOOOO
...it's over.
Over 3000 deaths later, though a portion are not recorded here. Over the course of weeks, I pushed for progress. And eventually, I made it. And, with that... it all comes to an end. What comes next, I wonder? In this ending so eternal... where is one to proceed? Is this... where my journey would cease entirely?
...that can't be right. After so many hours, I can't let it go to waste. But as of now, there is nothing I know I could do. So, the solution is simple: I must seek out greater challenges, ones that would further push my potential. For now, though... I will relish this victory as it is, a triumph against all odds.
congrats! very few make it all the way to the other summit, but you persevered.
i've been doing trueskip for fun now. this is my third victory, and... wow. wasn't expecting to get so good so fast, but here we are. i guess the same did happen for all the other major gaming challenges i've overcome, but this one... it should have been different.
"i'll never do trueskip deathless, though" i think to myself.
a part of me hopes i'm right, another hopes i'm wrong.
I've been doing a few more runs of Trueskip. It's quite an enjoyable challenge, though one I am quite skilled at... but one particular room still escapes my grasp.
"EXASPERATION", they called it... and exasperated I am indeed, by one object's making: that red balloon. Its placement is perfectly precarious, and even more perfectly deceiving. Many routes to extract its double dash appear viable, but most are either unnecessarily precise or downright impossible. I've found I've forgotten the optimal method of extracting the second dash safely, leaving me to repeat the first part of the room over and over until I rediscover it. Alas, such is the nature of challenges this grand: with too many failed attempts, frustration emerges...
I will admit that this room is also extremely challenging.
It's called "COORDINATION". The very top portion of this room poses the greatest challenge, as it requires extreme precision. Being the last part of the room, it is also difficult to practice it effectively, making it even more formidable.
so, i was trying to do deathless, and...
i actually did it!! hell yeah!! there's also a cool golden background as a reward
I think I'm getting better, but idk

Guess what?
Game was a painfully hard, took me this much time and deaths to get to this point, and yet I willingly gave up on just one strawberry
10/10 Would play again
i got 15 on penguin snake but I forgot to screenshot D:
Gemskip in under 10 was fun I guess
HELL YEAH 2
there is a special room if you get all the radishes in gemskip apparently
update on the trueskip situation: this may have been a mistake
HELL YEAH
sub 1 hour gemskip! i'm probably never gonna do trueskip because when i tried i couldn't even get past the first room :\
"probably never gonna do trueskip"
boy was i wrong
smots gaming
smots gaming
no way
smots gaming
smots gaming
it's been a while since I last played this, it's gotta be my favorite game of all time at the moment
wow, that's high praise! thank you so much <3
I gave up on the last 4 rooms... they are way to hard for a guy like me
congrats!! trueskip is no easy feat, and under two hours too!
yo, congrats! trueskip is probably the most difficult challenge available among the current celeste classic mods, so there's basically nowhere to go here... but the way i see it, that just means you've reached... well, let's just say, the "summit" of your potential in this area? [LAUGH PLEASE]
This is the best i could get. Edit: I just got sub 6.
oh yeah
how in the actual hell do you do a500 true skip?
:edit nvm i got it lol
but for a1100, i stuck, again...
for 1100m, you have to corner jump off of the spikes to reach the wall on the other side and wall jump up.
most of the tricks used in gemskip and trueskip are mentioned here: https://celesteclassic.github.io/glossary/ (check the corner jump section for 1100m)
TY so much i tried for like an hour....
What do you do for 500M? I cant figure it out.
and 800M
you need to wall jump off of spiked walls to pass 500m and 800m (check "parity" and "spike jump" sections here: https://celesteclassic.github.io/glossary)
gg! 1:21 is an amazing first time too
You could say I done good
Is that... ALL RADISHES DEATHLESS??? Okay, okay, WOW, that's awesome. I probably won't be able to do the same for a good while... I've tried, though, and I can confidently say this is impressive as hell. Great job!
oh yeah shwam
trying this again and oh
awesome
very fun very good
what room is gem skip in? and how do i do it?
most normal gemskip tech:
first deathless run
Holy! nice pace too!
holy CONGRATS!! as someone who's done this too, i know how frustrating it is, but you did it!
ive been grinding my time at work to get under 10 minutes. Very fun good job on this! : )
I can't stop playing, its the only fun i get at work
new best time :3 with all turnips too
the game crashed on me randomly (that was the first time that has happened) also who thinks they can beat the game without touching the ground?
hm, that's odd. did it display an error message? if not it could be a browser issue
you can almost do it. (getting the gems is impossible without touching the ground, but "Beginnings" is possible with 2 dashes without touching the ground. 2nd gem isn't though. 1100 is possible but it requires multiple spike clips. Everything else is possible I think.
sad that i cant play the skip without a progress save
YOO THE SECRET IN GRAVEYARD OF THE FALLEN IS AWESOME
heres my first run getting to here
thats how it go, it gets so much faster after your first run because you actually know what you are doing, i went from an hour on my first complete run to 20 minutes, and can do all berries in sub 10
Nice job, man!
Also those runs were before i actually started playing celeste and now i can beat this in under 10 mins too with all berries
Hey guys, try opening the chest and walking into the right wall in the first screen...
s e c r e t s
first gemskip, hated it. round 2!
where is the snake minigame
below forgotten graveyard, suicide andits not really death
Thanks, at first I didn't even realize there was a hole there
I just noticed that the snake computer is the computer from steam celeste where you can play celeste classic
Oh yeah! You're right!
*realizes how to do gemskip*
OH THATS WHY THE LEVELS LOOK SO WEIRD
when 500 requires 2 consecutive spike walljumps...
and then there is 1100
spam z
how do u change difficulty from normal
I NEED EVEN MORE CHALLENGE NOW THAT I GOT SUB 20 ALL BERRIES
got 8:40 yesterday
gemskip or trueskip
whats true ski- Oooooh you skip both gems
Acually, you have to open the chest at the beginning, then not get the gem OR go up, go right instead, right through the wall.
Edit: it's extremly hard. Don't say I didn't warn you.
couldn't even get past first screen, screens are insanely long, near end uses OG celeste classic speedrun tactics and recreations of the levels combined into one screen
normal
got 24 minutes all berries, what is gemskip and trueskip?
As far as I know, gemskip means beating the beginning without touching the gem. When you do that, you have 1 dash, but the game is still possible.
yeah, i found out, and I'm stuck around 1300, and struggle on 500, though i have beaten 500
some of these levels are a pain, but all of them are possible. You can find a walkthrough on youtube if you can't figure out how to beat a level. I've beaten this game on the normal difficulty in 9 minutes 42 seconds with all berries and I still couldn't beat the game with gemskip, so don't worry if you're stuck too.
Awesome mod I beat it with all berries and then tried gemskip but only got so far
you can hyper dash like in the original game just dash+jump while still being on the ground while before jumping
Awesome game!
I had an absolute blast with this! I didn't realize that I had two dashes until - by accident - I hit the button again on screen three (I was like 'is there a trick I'm missing?'). Then I got to the end and saw there was a difficulty option, I realized that no, that actually was an intended other way to play! I probably won't attempt hard mode just yet, but in all, a very good way to spend an hour.
my up arrow pauses the game, is there any fix for this? :(
that's really strange, never heard of anything like that happening in PICO-8 games before.
make sure you're focused on the game screen by clicking on it, and if that doesn't fix it, let me know what os / browser you're using and i'll see what i can do
is there a practice mod for foreverred?
