Abstract
Implantable prosthesis with double convexity, featuring two convex surfaces (FG) (upper and lower), which enable better positioning in certain parts of the human body.
Description
IMPLANTABLE PROSTHESIS WITH DOUBLE CONVEXITY
This patent refers to buttock, breast, chest, calf and other prosthesis made of silicone or other biocompatible material which can be implanted into humans or animals.
There's a wide variety of implants (prosthesis) for human use. the most used biocompatible material is silicone, although it can be replaced by other materials, provided they're also biocompatible.
Generally, silicone prosthesis has only one convex surface, while the other surface is flat or concave. The author of this paper introduces a model with convex upper and lower surfaces, which enable better positioning in certain parts of the human body, i.e. implants in the buttocks area.
The prosthesis' surface can be smooth, textured (several textures), polyurethane and titanium, among others. Prosthesis can be filled with other materials, such as silicone, saline solutions and oils.
The figures in the annexe may help to understand this patent. 1.1 - Upper view
1.2 - Bottom view
1.3 - Side view 1.4 - Front view
The main characteristics of this prosthesis are the two convex surfaces, which dimensions may vary as follows:
Upper view
Dimension A vary from 2 to 20 cm.
Dimension B vary from 3 to 28 cm.
Radii E and E' are normally the same, but they may change. Radii D and D' are bigger than E and E', although they can be the same.
Bottom view
Same considerations given to upper view. Radius C vary between 0.2 and 3.6 cm.
Side view
Surfaces F and G are convex. Radii I and M generally are the same, but they can be different.
Dimension K is always bigger than dimension J.
Dimension I vary from 2 to 12 cm.
Radius 0 generally bigger than radius N, although the can be the same. Front view Surfaces F and G are convex.
Dimension K is generally bigger than dimension J. Dimension I vary from 2 to 12 cm.
Claims
